When Will Power Be Restored in Edgewood

Currently (Mar 15th - noon) there is no visible work anywhere near Edgewood. The Mayor's message appears to try shift potential blame to Con-Ed. Bottom line... half a day Monday has already elapsed and there does not appear to be any visible effort to restore power to homes that have been without since Saturday. The mayor appears to try and shift focus to someone else. Where is the swift action commensurate to our tax bills?

Why the distinction between Edgewood and the rest of Scarsdale? This is the second thread where this is discussed. Don't be paranoid. We're all experiencing the same problems. Deal with it.

Tuesday, 3/16/10, 9:30 AM - It's not a matter of privilege. Major roads are not cleared and 'Bruce' is right, there doesn't appear to be any work getting done. it's Tuesday, powers out for over 60 hours, and you can't drive on Fox Meadow Road from Fenimore to the village yet! I'm told that last night a car crashed into a tree in a section of Fox Meadow Rd closed by a flimsy piece of police tape where a tree was down! An old lady approached me because she had been trying to get to Hartsdale by car for an hour, but with all the blocked roads she couldn't.

The mayor is a talented, worldly-wise, big-hearted volunteer, and I don't blame her at all. But the village manager should answer for his conduct after this is all over! It is not a matter of a 'privileged attitude', that is unfair.

This is somewhat ridiculous. The fact of the matter is that there are trees down blocking roads and on power lines all over the place (I counted 5 on my block alone). Naturally, it will take time to clear the trees and restore power and certain areas (e.g. main roads, schools etc.) will be prioritized. For once, stop with your privileged attitude and have a bit of patience!

The responsibility of getting the power back on resides solely on ConEd. The Village does not control the power grid. If your water supply has been cut off, then that would be the Village's problem to fix. The Village is also responsible for clearing trees on roads and other public spaces, but this can be complicated by live power lines. So the question I would ask is where it the swift action commensurate with our ConEd bills?
