Scarsdale Forum Holds Meeting on Strengthening Community

Date: Thu. 18 May, 2017 7:30 am - 8:30 am
Duration: 1 Hour

Scarsdale Forum invites the community to its Public Forum and Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, May 18th.

Scarsdale Village, May 8 2017 - Scarsdale Forum has invited all Scarsdale residents to attend its May 18th Public Forum and Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday May 18th 2017 at 7:30pm in the Scott Room of the Scarsdale Public Library. This event is free and open to the public.

The Scarsdale Community Support Council will be leading an interactive activity "Strengthening Community: A Round-Table Discussion." Guests will have an opportunity to explore their "ideal Scarsdale" and consider what each and every one of us can do to improve different aspects of our hometown experience.

The mission of the Scarsdale Community Support Council is to establish a network of diverse community service providers who are able to act as an integrated whole to provide comprehensive, efficient crisis intervention, promoting the social and emotional well-being of our community. By fostering connections between community resources, the Council seeks to strengthen those resources and develop a collective capacity that serves our community well in good times and bad.

The Scarsdale Community Support Council includes representatives from the clergy, police, Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Service, Scarsdale schools (mental health professionals, the administration, and the PTA), the Village Trustees, the senior community, the Scarsdale Forum and other civic organizations.

The portion of the evening dedicated to Forum members will include voting on the newly nominated Directors at Large and Officers as well as voting on a previously released report: "Report of the Education Committee on the Scarsdale Board of Education Proposed 2017-18 Budget." The report is dated April 7th 2017 by the Education Committee and is available on the Forum website www.scarsdaleforum.com.

(Non-members who wish to vote on both reports and nominated officers may join Scarsdale Forum prior to the May 18th meeting.)
