Westchester Moves for Puerto Rico: A Zumba Fundraising Event for the Victims of Hurrican Maria

Date: Sun. 22 Oct, 2017 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm
Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes

puertoricoMove for Puerto Rico will host its first fitness fundraiser to support recovery efforts needed after the destruction of Hurricane Maria. Four well-known Zumba instructors: Veronica Ramos, Tatiana Melendez, Jeimy Bueno-Prisby and Rufus Gibson will take the stage in honor of the unprecedented humanitarian crisis affecting 3.5 million people in Puerto Rico.

100% of the proceeds collected from this event will go towards the recovery efforts championed by ConPRmetidos, a San Juan based nonprofit dedicated to the long-term relief of vulnerable communities in Puerto Rico. The organization currently has 3 main objectives: restoring power via innovative energy solutions, needs assessment and long- term structural repairs.

About the organizer: Vanessa Siderow is a Westchester resident, native New Yorker, of Puerto Rican descent, lucky enough to call San Juan a second home. Feeling helpless from afar, she started Move for Puerto Rico with a goal to support recovery efforts by organizing local fitness fundraisers. Proceeds from our events will go directly to ConPRmetidos, a San Juan based nonprofit committed to the long-term recovery efforts of vulnerable communities devastated by Hurrican Maria.
