huskyMischief: A housekeeper reported that someone had damaged the shed that holds the garbage cans and thrown garbage around at the home where she works on Sheldrake Rd home on July 14th. She also found that the newspaper had been removed from the delivery bag and shredded. The damage did not appear to be the work of an animal.

Animals:

Dog Bite: A Post Road woman reported that her dog, a Bichon Frise, was bitten twice by a black and white husky at George Field Park on the morning of 7/19. The woman was walking her dog when a man walking a husky approached them. At first the husky was friendly but soon began to bite the dog on its neck and hind leg. When she returned home she found small lacerations on her dog and took it to the vet.

Police found two wandering dogs at the intersection of Canterbury and Mamaroneck Road on the morning of 7/17. Police secured both dogs and contacted the owner, who lives behind the Middle School at Kelwynne and Birchall Roads. She explained that the dogs had escaped while she was riding her horse.

Gatehouse Road residents called the police on the afternoon of July 17 when they discovered a ground hog resting against their garage door. Police attempted to secure the animal but it ran away.

Lost:

A White Plains woman reported that she had lost her purse during a visit to the Scarsdale Medical Group on Heathcote Road. She went to the doctor on the afternoon of 7/14 with her purse then returned home to realize it had been misplaced. The Medical Center was unable to locate it.

A guest at Quaker Ridge Country Club reported that her wallet had been stolen from a locker on July 20th. Her wallet and black Gucci purse were placed in a locker at 2:45, but were missing when she returned at around 4:15. The locker was not locked. Missing were the $600 wallet, $400 in cash and her American Express card.

An 86 year-old woman who suffers from dementia left her home at 6 am on Monday, July 21th. Police later found her at the corner of Popham and Depot Roads.

Anita Valdmane, a resident of the residential home Search for Change who was reported missing last week was located at St. John's hospital in Yonkers on 7/19. When a car was sent to transfer her to New York Presbyterian in White Plains it was discovered that she had checked herself out that morning and was at large again.

Found:

A Claremont Road woman found an iPhone at the intersection of Walworth Avenue and Claremont Road on the night of July 16th. She turned over the phone to police who were able to identify the owner and contact her.

Lightening Strike: Stonehouse Road residents reported that their home appeared to have been hit by lightening overnight on 7/15 – 7/16. Police found damage to the roof, the third floor, the lighting, tile and walls. There was debris all over the yard from the slate roof and drainage system.

Identity Thefts:

On 7-16 a Garden Road man reported that his Chase Credit Card was missing and two unauthorized charges were made on the account. A $100 gift card from Apple as well as an iPhone 5s were purchased using the card and the items were sent to UPS in Elmsford where they were picked up. The man did not know how his card had been stolen.

Flooding was reported on July 15th at the following locations:

  • Brewster Road between Huntington and Kingston Roads
  • 149 Brewster Road
  • Fox Meadow and Paddington Roads

Harassed: On 7/15, a Bell Road woman reported that she was being harassed by a Private Investigator who had been hired by her father-in-law. She spoke to the P.I. on the phone, saw him driving near her house and saw him again at Trader Joe's. She has an order of protection against her husband and there was no court order to hire a P.I.

Singing: Police got a call about a woman sitting in her car in the Golden Horseshoe Shopping Center and yelling at 6 pm on July 15. They found the woman who claimed she was singing.

Phone Calls:

A Christie Place man called Police after he made a $45 donation to the "American Federation of Police and Concerned Citizens" and then received another phone call from a police organization who said they had not received his donation. Police told him that multiple organizations are calling to solicit donations and that next time they call he should say "no thank you."

Police got a call from a Brookby Road who was disturbed about a phone call he received from Heather Gray from the IRS. He called back the number and "Sebastian Casey" told him his account had been audited and he had not paid taxes for the last 10 years. Casey claimed that the Scarsdale man would be arrested within the hour. The man called his lawyer who contacted Casey. Casey called the lawyer "a piece of shit." He determined that the call was a fraud.

A woman called police on the afternoon of July 18th when another woman near the train station would not leave her alone. Police located the two who were in a verbal disagreement about clean environmental solutions. When police arrived the woman was walking away from the complainant.

A Meadow Road man called police on the afternoon of 7/19 to say that his garbage had not ben picked up in several days.

Officer Hit by Car: A Westchester County Police Officer who was helping a driver at the intersection of Mamaroneck Road and the Hutchinson River Parkway at 9:30 pm on Saturday night 7/19, was hit by another car driven by a 63 year-old woman from Massachusetts. He was taken to Westchester County Medical Center for treatment and reported to be in stable condition on Sunday.

The Westchester County Police officer who was struck by a car Saturday night on the Hutchinson River Parkway remains hospitalized today in stable condition at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.


The officer was struck outside his patrol vehicle about 9:30 p.m., while assisting a motorist whose car had broken down on the southbound side of the parkway near Mamaroneck Road in Scarsdale. The officer and his patrol car were struck after he had closed the right lane to create a safety zone for a tow truck that had arrived on the scene. The marked patrol car's emergency lights were activated at the time.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the officer – a 63-year-old Massachusetts woman -- was evaluated by county police and determined not to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. No charges have been filed, although the investigation is continuing.

"We are grateful that the officer's injuries, though serious, are not life-threatening," said County Executive Robert P. Astorino. "The incident is a reminder of the hazards that officers face while keeping our parkways safe."

Commissioner George N. Longworth reminded motorists to exercise caution and move to the adjacent lane of travel when they encounter emergency vehicles on the parkways.

Bench Warrant:

Lou Turchiano of Yonker responded to an outstanding bench warrant from Scarsdale police on July 18th. He was released without bail and given a court date of 7-23.

stevensgunA Mamaroneck Road man turned over a pump rifle and seven additional guns to police on July 7 after a court ordered him to surrender the arms following a domestic incident. The firearms, now in police custody include the following:

  • A Stevens .22 caliber pump action long gun (rifle)
  • A Marlin .44 caliber lever action long gun
  • A Mossberg 835 12 gauge shot gun
  • A Ruger MKII .22 caliber handgun
  • A Ruger SB .44 caliber handgun
  • A Beretta 92F 9mm handgun
  • A Sig Sauer P220R .45 caliber handgun

According to police, only handguns need to be registered in the county. Long guns require no permits. Police also say that many residents in Scarsdale keep guns in their homes and their neighbors have no way to find out what may be concealed.

Stolen Phone: A Potter Road woman reported that her iPhone was stolen when she was running on the high school track on the night of July 7th. She left her phone and a water bottle at the edge of the track at 9:50 pm and when she returned 20 minute later the phone was gone. She traced the location of the phone to Hartsdale and went to the address. However when she got there the phone had been turned off. Her voicemail message had already been changed and there was no way to locate the phone.

Stolen Bike: A bicycle that was locked to the MTA platform at Scarsdale Station was stolen on July 10th while its owner was at work in the city.

Identity Thefts:

A Kent Road couple reported that $5,500 had been withdrawn from their Chase bank account by an unknown person. The bank advised them that their account information had been changed on 7/7. The fraudulent transactions involved several accounts and money wiring. The accounts were subsequently closed.

A woman from Boulevard in Scarsdale said that someone had opened a fraudulent AT&T account in her name and accrued $1,266.39 in charges. Both her name and address were incorrectly shown and did not match her driver's license. AT&T did not hold her accountable for the charges.

A Carstensen Drive woman reported that someone attempted to open a credit card account in her name using her personal information on July 13th. The attempts were unsuccessful.

Kahlid Mughal of Baldwin Lane in Scarsdale surrendered to police in response to traffic violations on 7/11. He was released on $100 bail and given a court date of 7/16.

Lost: An Overhill Road man lost his wallet, containing his driver's license and several credit cards on July 12 near his home.

On the morning of 7/8, an Eton Road woman complained that her husband had left home with her wallet. Police contacted the man who denied having his wife's wallet. Police told the woman to go home and look for the wallet and she reported that afternoon that she found it.

Found: An unspecified amount of cash was found near the ATM machine at Chase on Palmer Avenue on July 12th.

Dispute: A Heathcote Road man called police on the morning of July 12 claiming that his neighbors threw rocks into his backyard and threatened to shoot him after an argument they had about him hitting golf balls into her yard. The neighbor said she had actually thrown a golf ball, not a rock, that she found on her front yard. She said she felt he purposefully hit golf balls at her.

Dogs: A Secor Road man complained that two dogs had charged at him and his five-month old child when he was walking to Balducci's on the evening of July 7. Another passerby said the dogs also approached her numerous times. Police spoke to the owner of the dogs who said they ran out of the house and left the property. The owner was warned to secure her dogs and police said she would receive a summons if they got another complaint.

Police got a call about a loose golden retriever on Bradley Road at 9:17 pm on the night of July 9th. Police found the dog, took possession of it and called the New Rochelle Humane Society to pick it up. At 11 o'clock the dog's owner called police who were able to intercept the Humane Society before they left with the dog. The dog was returned and the owner was given a summons.

Line on Fire: Murray Hill Road was closed at 5 am on July 8th after a power line went up in flames. The Fire Department, Con Edison and the Village Highway Department were called to put out the fire and repair the line. A power line fell across Griffen Avenue at 12:49 am on July 8th. The fire department and Con Edison closed the road while repairs were made.

Someone got stuck in the elevator at Freightway Garage at 5:38 pm on July 9. The Fire Department arrived and assisted in opening the elevator and freeing the passenger.

Reports of loud parties on 7/12 were made at the following locations:

  • Leatherstocking Lane
  • Park Road
  • Springdale Road
  • Bradford Road (7/13)

Suspended Registration: Vanessa A. Delia of New Rochelle was stopped while driving on Weaver Street on the morning of July 7 for driving a car with a suspended registration due to an insurance lapse. The plates were removed from the car and she was given a summons.

Lost and Found: An Edgemont woman reported that she lost a gold bracelet with pave diamonds valued at $3,000 after dining at Chat in Scarsdale Village on the night of June 21. Later that night when she realized it was missing she returned to the restaurant but they had not found it.

A 2011 Trek bicycle valued at $350 with a cable combination lock and saddlebags were stolen from the bike rack on East Parkway on June 24th between 1 and 8:50 pm.

A Specialized Sirrus hybrid bike valued at $500 was taken from the rack at East Parkway and Spencer Place between noon and 7 pm on June 26. A Kryptonite cable lock, bike tools and a bike bag were also gone.

An iPad that belongs to the Scarsdale School District was stolen from the desk of a phys ed teacher at SHS over the weekend of June 19 – June 21. Though the iPad was missing, the charger remained.

A key to an Acura was found at the intersection of Franklin and Stratton Road on 6/28. The keys are being held at the Police station for the owner to claim.

Scams: A Woods Lane man got a call from someone who claimed to be his grandson and said he had been arrested in the Dominican Republic and needed $7,000. The Scarsdale man was instructed to call a "Lt. Foster" at a phone number with an area code in Montreal. The Scarsdale man was able to determine the call was a scam – so when he got a second call asking why he had not called the alleged Lieutenant, he asked the "grandson" for the name of his sister and he hung up.

Heathcote Road residents reported that someone called them and tried to extort $1,000 from them, saying they had an open "financial fraud case" against them. They realized it was a fraud and hung up.

Identity Theft: a Boulevard woman told police that twelve fraudulent charges, totaling more than $3,000 appeared on her Wells Fargo Visa Card account . Ten of the charges were for Uber and two were for Jet Blue.

A Dobbs Terrace woman reported that someone used her Chase Sapphire Card to make a charge at a Hampton Inn in Mexico without her authorization. She closed the account and the bank issued new credit cards.

Damage: The rear driver's side window of a 2005 Cadillac Escalade was broken while the car was parked in a Palmer Road driveway overnight on 6/26 – 6/27. It appeared that the window had been punctured by an unknown object. Nothing was missing from inside the car.

A $300 exterior light fixture at a home on Ogden Road was shattered overnight on 6/25- 6/26. The homeowner heard the sound of glass shattering around midnight and looked outside to find a black Lincoln Town car parked facing his house. He called police when he thought he saw kids shooting a BB gun out of the car window, but by the time police arrived, the car was gone. The man did not realize that the fixture was shattered until the following morning.

A large utility pole along with transformers and wires came down behind the Golden Horseshoe Shopping Center on June 27th. It appeared that it simply fell down – as there was no evidence that it had been hit. Police contacted the businesses at the shopping center and Con Ed who cut the power to the pole and agreed to move it. The landlord will need to replace the pole as it is on private property.

Noise: Police received two calls about noise from a party on Morris Lane on the night of 6-23/. Police went to the house and the residents agreed to lower the volume of the music.

Dispute: A Coralyn Road woman called to say that her mother was withholding her medicine on the night of 6-25. Police mediated the dispute and the mother gave her daughter her meds. On 6-26, the Department of Social Services asked the police to check in on the women at the same address and everything was found to be in order.

On the Run: A School Lane man called police at 6:14 am on June 29 when his 86 year-old mother-in-law, who suffers from dementia got out of the house. He asked for help in finding her. Police located her on Popham Road, identified her and brought her home. The woman also left the house on Monday morning June 30th and residents called police for help.

Locked In: A River Road woman called police on the afternoon of 6-27 to say she was locked inside her car and could not get out. When police arrived she had figured out how to get out.

In a Ditch: On June 29 at 9:40 am the driver of a Chevy Impala attempted to turn the car around at East Parkway and Crane Road but ended up in a ditch at the construction site. A tow truck had to be called to pull the car out of the ditch. There was minimal damage to the car.

Animals:

A Richbell Road woman found a large turtle in her driveway on the morning of 6-27. She called police who placed the turtle in a box and brought it to a pond to be released.

A Valley Road woman was given a warning about keeping her dogs on leashes after she was found letting them run loose in Red Maple Swamp on the morning of 6-23.

No Posting: Police receive a complaint about flyers placed on windshields of cars parked in the Christie Place Garage on the evening of 6-26. Total Form Fitness in Hartsdale was given a summons for distributing the flyers.

Arrests: Aryn Wexler, age 31 of White Plains surrendered to police in response to a bench warrant on 6/26. Her father paid her bail and she was released and given a court date of July 2.

Summons for driving with suspended registrations were given to:

-Sharagay Tulloch of Mt. Vernon on June 25
-Laura Bozzone of White Plains on June 28
-Hugo Daniel Sonco of Elmsford who also got a ticket for driving without a license on June 28.

stolen-iphoneResale: A Lawrence Road man inadvertently left his cell phone in his Lexus when he took it in for service in Larchmont on June 5th. On June 27th the man was contacted by a woman who said she purchased his iPhone 5 from an ad on Craig's List and asked him to give her his password. He told her the phone had been taken and she offered to sell it back to him for $300. He gave police the woman's name, the phone number of the person who sold the phone and the email link from Craig's List.

Mom Leaves Kids in Car: Police were alerted that two children, ages approximately 7 and 4, were left inside an SUV with the motor running while the car was parked in the garage under CVS on Popham Road at 5 pm on June 30th. The parking attendant said the kids were left inside the car with the air conditioning on for a half hour before he contacted the police. Before police arrived, a woman returned and drove off. Police made an unsuccessful attempt to contact the owner of the car.

Dog Chase: A Mamaroneck Road woman called police at 7 pm on June 30th to say that two large dogs were chasing her and a friend. When police arrived they found the women and two American Stafitore terriers on the lawn of a home at Willow Lane. Though the dogs did not appear to be aggressive, the woman reported that one growled at her. Police knew who owned the dogs and went to the home of the owner on Sheldrake Road where the resident was searching for the dogs that had accidentally gotten out of the house. The owner was issued a summons.

Fireworks: On July 6 a caller from Magnolia Road said that his neighbor was setting off fireworks and they were landing on his property. Police went to the address and found spent fireworks in the yard. They told the resident that it was illegal to set off fireworks and that if she was caught with them she would be arrested. On July 4 police also received complaints about fireworks going off on White Road and Ramsey Road.

Damage: The rear driver's side window of a car parked on Rock Creek Lane was broken sometime on the morning of June 30th. Police did not find any pry marks around the window and nothing was removed from the car. Nothing that could have broken the window was found inside the car.

The rear windshield of a Nissan Murano that was parked on Foxhall Road was shattered on the afternoon of July 3rd by a piece of wood in the road. Police surmised that another car hit the piece of wood that popped up and broke the car window. Police knocked on the door of the home where the car was parked and informed the owner.

Identity Theft: Webster Road residents reported that someone had changed the contact information on their Chase checking account and subsequently withdrew $1,537 from their account on July 3rd. The imposter made two wire transfers to an account at Bank of America. The bank closed the account, opened new ones and said they would credit the missing funds.

Harassed: A Franklin Road woman reported receiving 4-5 calls per day as well as text messages from someone who keeps saying, "Who is this? What is your name? Please call me back." She has been receiving the calls since May.

Cars: Police received a complaint about a car idling on Walworth Avenue on June 30th. They approached the driver who said he was a private investigator who would be parked there from 6 am to 4 pm.

A Nelson Road man said an unfamiliar car was parked in his driveway on the afternoon of July 6. Police contacted a neighbor who said that their friend parked in the wrong driveway and agreed to move the car.

Lost: A Larchmont man reported that he lost his wallet at the Scarsdale High School graduation on June 27th. The wallet contained $80 in cash, 4 credit cards, 2 car registrations and a spare key to one of his cars. A Post Road man lost his wallet on July 1 in the Village of Scarsdale. It contained his ATM card, social security card and driver's license.

A woman from Catherine Road reported that she lost her iPhone and a case containing bank and credit cards, a metro card and her driver's license some where in Scarsdale on June 30th. Police advised her to cancel her cell phone service and credit cards.

Found: a young man from Park Road found a wallet that belonged to a Nelson Road man near the Scarsdale Train Station on the night of June 30th. Police verified the owner of the wallet and returned it to him.

Disputes: A Brewster Road man called police on the might of July 1 after his ex son-in-law left his house and drove on the wrong side of the road with the intent of scaring or intimidating the caller. He said that his son-in-law made them fearful and uncomfortable. Police advised the man to contact family court.

A Bradley Road man called police at 8:15 pm on July 1 when a solicitor refused to leave his property. Police went to the house where the solicitor said he was trying to speak to the man's wife and felt that her husband did not have the authority to answer for her. Police told him to leave the property.

On July 5 a Fox Meadow Road woman called police about a dispute she was having with a contractor. She said he had threatened her. He claimed he had not been paid for his work. Police advised them that this was a civil matter.

Taxis: At 2:41 am on July 3 a New York City cab driver called police when a passenger jumped out of his car on Lawrence Road without paying his fare. He reported feeling threatened but could not offer a description of the passenger.

At 3:47 am on July 4 the Eastchester Police Department contacted Scarsdale police about the assault of a cab driver near Ewart Street. Three suspects tried to leave the cab without paying and when the driver stopped them they assaulted him. The suspect then fled north into Scarsdale but police were unable to locate them.

Locked-in: A 17 month-old child accidentally locked himself inside a room in a home on Nelson Road at 6:30 pm on July 3rd. By the time police arrived, the child's father returned home and was able to get him out.

Signs: A caller told police that he saw some teens take street signs and go into a house on Windmill Lane on the night of July 15th. However, when police arrived, the girl who answered the door said her friends were gone and she did not know whether they had attempted to remove any street signs.

Summons: Vanessa Delia of New Rochelle was stopped while driving on Weaver Street on July 7 and given a summons for driving a car with a suspended registration. The plates were removed from the car. Kozue Fukuda was stopped on 7/7 on Weaver Street and given a summons for driving a car with a suspended registration due to parking violations. The plates were removed from the car and it was towed to her home in Larchmont.

Flooding: During a rainstorm on July 2, police received reports of flooding on Tisdale Road and on Fox Meadow Road.

JackDanielsFor the third consecutive week, a woman has been arrested in Scarsdale for a DWI. At 8:30 pm on Thursday June 19th police were called about an erratic driver in a red convertible on Fox Meadow Road. They found the 2003 Chrysler red convertible parked on Fox Meadow Road with the engine running. Inside was Lisa Pierdiluca of Lee Road with two dogs. Police smelled alcohol on Pierdiluca's breath and she admitted to drinking and then reached over to the passenger side of the car and produced a 750 ml bottle of Jack Daniels Whiskey that was ¾ empty. Police asked her if she had drunk it all and she said "yes."

While police were speaking to her she appeared to fall asleep. She failed sobriety tests and had to sit on her bumper to take the Field Sobriety test. She was found to have a BAC of .21% and arrest for Aggravated DWI (.18 grams or more alcohol in blood) . Greenburgh Animal Control cam to take the dogs to the New Rochelle Humane Society and Pierdiluca was taken to the White Plains ER because she said she "wasn't feeling well." She was given a court date of Wednesday June 25.

Ike Okoli, age 26 of Lockwood Road was arrested for disobeying an order to stay away from his neighbor's home on June 16 after the neighbor found him standing on her property taking photos of her through her front window. She saw Okoli wearing a yellow shirt and taking photos through her window with a smart phone while standing in a flower bed under her dining room window. Police went to Okoli's home and he refused to come outside and speak to them. Speaking from a second floor window he said, My sister's dog ran away onto their property. I had to get him. It's not a crime to get my dog." Police later contacted Okoli's mother who brought him to headquarters where he was arrested for disobeying the order of protection. Judge Galloway released him on his own recognizance and gave him a court date of June 25.

Car flips into Bronx River: Two people were taken to the hospital Saturday morning 6-21 after they drove off the northbound Bronx River Parkway just south of Harney Road and their Honda overturned into the Bronx River. According to reports, two people who were walking on the path saw the accident and jumped into the river to get the driver and passenger out of the car. The water in the river was about 5 feet deep at the scene. The woman inside the car was in cardiac arrest and taken to Lawrence Hospital. The man had hypothermia and was taken to Westchester Medical Center. The Parkway was closed for hours while police investigated the accident and a tow truck pulled the car out of the water and up the riverbank.

Marital Troubles: On June 16, a Cooper Road man told police that his wife was physically abusive and punched him in the shoulder and threw his laptop computer. The wife said she accidentally hit her husband's shoulder while moving a laptop computer from the backseat to the front seat of their car. After speaking to police both parties felt safe staying in the same house.

Missing Husband: On June 18 a Palmer Avenue woman reported that her husband was missing – however after speaking with her police determined that the man was not missing, he just did not want to speak to his wife. Police spoke to the man who said that earlier in the week he had a dispute with his wife and did not want to contact her. He then agreed to communicate with her.

Golf balls: On 6/17 a Sherbrooke Road woman complained that someone on a neighboring property was hitting golf balls on her property. She was concerned about her children's safety. Police spoke to the neighbor's son and he denied hitting golf balls.

Harassed: On 6/16 a Lee Road man complained that he was receiving unwanted phone calls from a woman responding to his ad on Craig's List for a house rental. The woman did not meet his financial requirements for the house rental but she called him repeatedly.

Fart Bomb: A Colby Road woman said that someone left something at her door on June 19th. Police went to the house and found a small baggie labeled "Fart Bomb" and disposed of it.

Stranger at the Door: A Montrose Road woman called at 2:20 am on June 21 when a woman rang her doorbell and said the police took her car and her purse. The woman was described as a white female, with brown hair and glasses, about 5'5" tall. Police found the woman at 4:47 am. She said she had been released from White Plains Hospital and wanted to go to Mt. Vernon. She had previously been arrested for DWAI Drugs, and Criminal Possession of a weapon and of marijuana in Harrison. Police took her to the shelter at Grace Church in White Plains.

Identity Thefts:

-On 6-17 a Secor Road man told police he was the victim of a Craig's List scam when he was selling his car. Someone attempted to defraud him of $800.

-A Gaylor man reported on 6-22 that someone had applied for credit cards in his name from Dick's Sporting Goods, Victoria's Secret, Pottery Barn, J Crew, Ann Taylor, Nordstorm, Toys R Us and T-Mobile. All the applications were denied.

Lost and Found:

-A Myrtledale Road man said that his wallet was stolen on 6/21 by a day laborer he had picked up on the Post Road to assist him with a job. The victim had a small bag on the console of his car that contained his wallet and $900. He left the bag unattended from 10 am to 1 pm. At 2 pm the laborer complained of stomach pain and asked to be taken back to where had was picked up. After the man was dropped off the victim realized the bag with his wallet and cash were gone. Also missing were his driver's license, professional license, social security car and credit cards.

- An Eastchester man found a gold ring with the engraving "BBK Forever as well as twelve Canadian coin on East Parkway on June 22. He turned them over to the police.

-A resident on North Chase Road found documentation in her backyard on 6/21 and turned them over to the police. It turned out that they belonged to residents on Stonehouse Road whose car had been entered in the spring of 2013.

-A Garth Road woman said that her purse was taken at DeCicco's Market at 2:40 pm on 6-22. However, when police went to the market they found that the woman had left her bag in the store, and employee had turned it in and police were able to give it back to the owner.

-A Tompkins Road man found a small white dog, possibly a Westy, on his property on the night of June 22. He turned the dog over to police who transported it to the New Rochelle Humane Society.

Traffic Violations:

Police stopped the drivers of several unregistered cars, gave summon's to the drivers and towed their cars:

-Michele Jasper-Brody of the Bronx was stopped for driving an unregistered car on 6/16

-Anthony B. Johnson of Bridgeport CT was stopped for driving without a license, for failing to wear a seatbelt and for driving a car with a suspended registration on June 17th.

-Y Slabodyanskaya of State Island was stopped for driving a car with a suspended registration due to parking violations on 6/18.

Get off the horn: Police gave a summons to a Scarsdale Taxi driver for making unnecessary noise on June 20 after he honked repeatedly and yelled outside his car window when the car in front of him was waiting for another car to back out of a parking space on Chase Road.

Animals:

-A Brewster Road woman called about a dead raccoon in her yard. Police put it in a box and put it on the side of the road for pick up.

-Cooper Road residents called police when a bat entered their home on the night of 6/17. Police caught the bat and took it out of the house.

-A white dog with no tags was found at a home on Brook Lane at 11:45 am on 6/21. Police secured the dog and it was picked up by the New Rochelle Humane Society.
