Ouch! A Congers man who works for the Village of Scarsdale Sanitation Department was bitten by a dog on Hamilton Road on August 7. When he drove into the driveway to collect the recyclables at 7:30 am the homeowner was out with the dog on a leash and dropped the leash to help with the collection. The dog then lunged at the sanitation man and bit his left thigh above his knee. Police told the dog's owner that the dog should be confined for ten days. The man also provided a copy of the dog's vaccinations to the police.

Collapsed Roadway: Church Lane residents called police at 8:45 pm on August 6 to report a water main break in front of their home. Police determined that the water "was not causing any hazards." However, by 9:30 pm a portion of the road had collapsed and traffic had to be diverted to allow the Water and Highway Departments to fix the break and repair the sunken roadway.

Stranger in the yard: A Brite Avenue nanny called police at 3 pm on August 5 when the children she cares for saw a man in a blue hoodie sweatshirt run through the yard and into the bushes. Police searched the area but were unable to find the suspect.
Care for a drink? A 7:57 am on August 7, someone from Zachys Liquor Store reported that a woman, who already appeared to be drunk was trying to purchase more liquor from the store. They turned her down and she left in a dark colored Honda. Police searched the area but were unable to find a woman matching the description.
Car entered: A Tompkins Road woman reported that somebody had going through her car when it was parked outside overnight on 8/6 – 8/7. Though the car contained money, jewelry and other valuables, nothing was missing.
Help: Police got a call about a 93 year-old man who had fallen when climbing up the exterior stairs to his home at 5 pm on August 10. Police spoke to the man and his wife who said they had fallen several times while trying to get the driveway before a neighbor game them a hand. The couple lives alone and police thought they could benefit from some help.
Suspended Registration: Police stopped a driver on Garth Road at 5 pm on August 5 after the scanner revealed that the registration was suspended. The registration was suspended for parking violations. The plates were removed from the car and the car was towed back to the owner's home. She was issued a summons for driving with a suspended license.
