Congregants Say Goodbye to Rabbi Jacobs

ClergyTeamRjTributeSmallMore than 700 Westchester Reform Temple (WRT) congregants celebrated Rabbi Richard Jacobs and his family on Saturday, March 17, 2012 with an afternoon of social action and an evening of music and tribute. During this special event, the community honored the Rabbi’s 20 years of service to WRT by naming an education wing for him – The Rabbi Richard Jacobs Beit Midrash. Completed last year, the Beit Midrash (House of Learning) consists of 16 classrooms, a library and two gathering spaces – all built as part of Rabbi Jacobs’ vision of a learning community for all ages. Rabbi Jacobs left WRT to become the President of the Union for Reform Judaism, the roof organization for over 900 congregations and 1.5 million Jews.
