Kudos to Kol Ami, Alexa Handel and the Latin American Woman of Scarsdale

kolamiteamCongregation Kol Ami in White Plains, celebrated their newly renovated sanctuary and those who were instrumental in its modernization on Saturday May 4. Over 200 people joined together to honor the members of the Building Committee, who were the driving force behind the planning, financing, designing and completion of the new worship space. "We couldn't be more grateful to the Building Committee's efforts in helping our congregation create such a magnificent sanctuary." Said Mark Seiden, the Co-President of Congregation Kol Ami, "We are so lucky to have such dedicated and talented members, who worked tirelessly on this project.

The event was chaired by Lori Abrams of Scarsdale with co-chair Gerri Sommers of Edgemont and Evelyne Klein of White Plains. Festivities, food and drink were followed by a hilarious performance by the well-known comedian, actor and performer, Robert Klein.

Edgemont Kindergartner Raises Funds for Boston Bombing Victims:bakesale

Alexa Handel, a kindergartner at Edgewood School wanted to raise money to help the victims of the bombing at the Boston Marathon. With the assistance of her grandmother, Lana Toamo of Greenacres, Handel baked cookies and sold them at Greenacres field on April 28. Alexa ran up and down the field sidelines soliciting sales from residents attending soccer games and from those at the playground. In total she raised $231which was donated to One Fund Boston.

Latin American Woman Raise Money for Don Bosco Summer Camp:

The Latin American Women of Scarsdale held their gala at Scarsdale Golf Club on Saturday May 4 to benefit the Don Bosco Summer Camp in Port Chester, NY. The organization marks its 9th year of funding scholarships for children of Port Chester to enjoy safe and fun-filled summers at the camp.
