One of Scarsdale’s most prestigious homes will be sold at auction on Thursday June 21. Two Cooper Road, a 10,565 square foot house, built in 1914 will be sold to the highest bidder by order of the estate.

The house has been empty for quite some time. In 2013 it was transformed by top interior designers as a show house for New York Cottage and Gardens Magazine. In 2014, it was listed for $16,500,000 but failed to find a buyer.

The 27-room Colonial Revival mansion was built in 1914 and features a grand stairway and rooms for every occasion, including a game room, a music room, a library, an upstairs family room with built-in bar, and a third floor with spacious accommodations for staff or guests. The main house includes ten bedrooms, 6 full and 3 partial baths and nine fireplaces in all. This iconic house is sited on 3.75 acres atop a hill on Cooper Road, fronted by a majestic fountain and a rolling green lawn.

Sol Berger purchased the house from Jack Wasserman in 1953 for less than $100,000. When he passed away in 2009, the home was passed to his two daughters Renee and Sandye Berger, who are still listed as the homeowners.
