Russian Storytime, a program of stories in Russian for children ages 4-9, will be held at the Scarsdale Public Library on Sundays, Jan. 21 and Feb. 4, at 3 p.m. The program is entirely in Russian and is not designed to teach the Russian language. The children will hear the adventures of cartoon characters -- both traditional and some new ones.

Friends of Music & the Arts Winter Festival (Sun. 21 Jan, 2018 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

The Friends of Music & The Arts Winter Festival will take place this Sunday, January 21, at the Scarsdale Public Library. The fundraiser will be held 3-5pm in the Scott Room and is open to all. It will feature a music "marathon" of performances by student and faculty musicians, an exhibit of student art selected by faculty from each school in the district, a children's art table, raffle prizes, and refreshments.

FMA is a parent-run community organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the music and arts programs in Scarsdale schools. The group provides annual funding for arts and music purchases in each school, as requested by faculty; represents student needs at district budget and planning meetings; acknowledges outstanding student achievements with awards in music, art and drama; supports High School clubs and programs such as the Drama Club, Tri-M Music Honor Society, National Art Honor Society and Jabberwocky Literary magazine; and hosts and promotes school concerts, plays and other events.

Students interested in performing at the Winter Festival should email FMA Co-President Jeannine Palermo here. For more details or to donate to FMA, visit the organization's website.
