Committee to Consider Demolition of Seven Homes in Scarsdale

27MurrayHillRoadThe Committee for Historic Preservation will meet on Tuesday September 29 at 8 PM at Scarsdale Village Hall to consider the fate of seven Scarsdale homes. Owners have filed demolition applications for the following seven houses:

  • 27 Murray Hill Road built in 1924
  • 23 Shawnee Road built in 1926
  • 32 Fenimore Road built in 1923
  • 153 Nelson Rd built in 1936
  • 41 Olmsted Road built in 1931
  • 60 Carthage Road built in 1929
  • 146 Fox Meadow Rd built in 1952

Another example of Scarsdale Corruption at work. Somebody is making a lot of money by allowing these tear downs. And they just don't listen to the community. STOP THE WASTE!

How many of these homes were purchased by developers to flip? Why does the Committee for Historic Preservation exist if that cannot protect the character of the village? I smell recall election...

We are losing our character, literally and figuratively. Scarsdale was a lovely town. Arrogance and hubris have diminished the beauty of our town. What should one expect from the 1/10%ers who demand the biggest and best at the expense of scale and character. How ironic, the majority of these new homes look alike with no soul yet the owners claim how stunning it all appears. We have lost sight of the forest for the trees. Be careful what you wish for............ ...
