jewelsAt 1:35 am on July 17, Jewels by Joanne, a popular jewelry store on Heathcote Road in Scarsdale, was burglarized. According to police multiple suspects use a pry tool to force their way into the store in the middle of the night.

The alarm went off and police responded however by the time they arrived the suspects had already gotten away. Police found that the front door was damaged and the interior of the store had been ransacked.

Missing were 50 items together valued at $300,000.

Police say, “We are investigating the leads regarding the suspects and related information that is still currently confidential.”

This is the second jewelry store to be hit this year. On March 26, 2023 Holsten's Jewelers on Harwood Court was also vandalized and merchandise was stolen.

Stolen car
A 2021 Land Rover was stolen from a Shawnee Road driveway the morning of July 16. The car was valued at $60,000.

Burglary
A Mamaroneck Road house was reported to have been burglarized on July 12. The homeowner confirmed that property had been stolen.

On July 17, a Heathcote Road store was burglarized and $300,000 worth of property was reported stolen. The front door was damaged and the store was ransacked.

Banks
On July 11, police met ATM maintenance technicians at a Christie Place bank who turned over skimming devices found in the bank vestibule.

On July 11, an employee at a Chase Road bank reported seeing a man wearing a ski mask and a hoodie spending an unusually long time in the bank’s ATM vestibule. Police checked the ATM machine and did not find anything suspicious.

Stolen
On July 12, a Scarsdale Avenue rental agency reported that a rented 2021 Subaru was not returned on time. It was rented by a Bronx man in May.

On July 14, an electric bicycle was reported stolen from East Parkway.

On July 15, a School Lane woman reported she ordered an Apple watch from Walmart. However, when the package was delivered, it was apparent that it had been tampered with. She found that the package contained only the empty box for the Apple Watch. She then contacted her bank and was informed her that she needed a police report for a refund.

Car break-in
On July 15, a Franklin Road caller reported his car had been broken into, while the doors were unlocked, the previous night. Patrol responded to the above location. Items were out of place or missing, including his vehicle's owner manual, registration and insurance card.

Identity theft and scams
On July 12, a father reported his daughter was the victim of identity theft. Specifically, on approximately July 8 to 10, multiple fraudulent check transactions took place at Chase bank locations in California and Long Island. It was reported that the daughter filled out a personal information form from a fraudulent text message she previously received. One check deposit in the amount of $6,225 was made, and two withdrawals totaling $10,745 were completed. Chase bank is in the process of issuing a refund.

On July 13, a Garth Road business owner called police about a possible scam. The owner said a person wanted to have an event at the location and would provide a band at a cost of $6,000. The person then sent a $15,205 check for the cost of the event and requested that the caller send $6,000 back for the band. The owner was advised by the bank that the $15,205 check bounced and thus did not send $6,000 to the person, realizing that this may be a scam.

On July 16, an Old Orchard Lane man reported receiving a letter in the mail requesting that $10,000 be mailed to an unknown person for the purpose of starting a business. It was a scam.

Harassment
On July 12, a Myrtledale Road woman reported that she was involved in a motor vehicle accident in the past and the other involved party has been constantly contacting her in regards to compensation, even though her insurance company already made payment. The reporting party had not yet advised the other party to stop contacting her, but while at headquarters, she sent a text message advising him she no longer wanted to be contacted.

On July 15, a caller reported that a male pushed him on Scarsdale Avenue and fled the scene. The caller stated he was not injured and declined medical attention.

Urinating in public
On July 14, a Park Road woman reported a white male pulled into her driveway, opened up both cars doors to shield himself, urinated and then left the area. The woman was able to identify a plate, which belongs to a rental company.

Help
Police checked the welfare of a Mohican Trail resident July 13.

On July 15, a Christie Place resident reported hearing noises indicating someone was n the patio. She called back to say no one was there. The noises were related to the weather.

A homeless person was sitting on the side of Post Road July 15. Police provided a courtesy ride to a shelter.

Cars and roadways
Police assisted a driver with a flat tire on Post Road July 10.
Police notified the highway department about an alleged hole, reported by a resident, on Heathcote Road and Bypass July 10.
On July 11, police assisted a driver of a commercial rental truck who sustained heavy roof damage while illegally driving on the Hutchison River Parkway, most likely from a bridge strike. The driver exited and was on Weaver Street.
On July 12, police asked a driver to move a parked car from Walworth Avenue because its location was blocking access out of a neighbor’s driveway.
On July 12, police encountered a stopped car blocking traffic on Post Road. The Massachusetts driver, who said a tow was en route, was issued summonses for lack of insurance, registration violations and other violations.
On July 13, Con Edison was informed about a broken electrical box on pole on Post Road.
Police assisted a drivers whose cars got stuck after driving through flooded roadways near Brookby Road and Heathcote Road July 14. They called a tow for a car stuck in water on Pinecrest Road.
Police removed a fallen branch from Olmsted Road July 14.
On July 14, a white box rental truck struck a bridge on the Hutchison River Parkway and exited at Weaver Street. Police found the truck parked at Heathcote School and stood by for Westchester County police.
On July 15, police issued summonses to a New York City driver for driving with a suspended registration, following a traffic stop in the Village.
Police removed a fallen branch from Hampton Road July 16.

Trees
Police notified highway workers about a fallen tree blocking Harcourt and Hampton roads, for the purpose of removal, July 13.

On July 13, a Parkfield Road resident reported a county tree fell and damaged part of the resident’s fence. Westchester County police were notified for assistance.

Highway workers cleared a fallen tree from Griffen Avenue and Mamaroneck Road July 14.

Village code
Police removed illegally posted signs on Heathcote Road and discarded them July 10. They also advised a resident to remove a sign from the Village right of way on Walworth Avenue July 10. They removed illegally posted signs from Oxford Road and Berwick Road July 16. Summonses were issued as appropriate.

On July 11, police issued workers on White Birch Lane a verbal warning about starting work before the allowed time, as per Village code.

On July 15, police informed Harvest Drive residents that a neighbor had complained of noise. Music was turned off as a courtesy.

Animals
Police relocated a turtle from Axtell Road to a pond of Tisdale Road July 11.

On July 12, police assisted in removing a deer from a Murray Hill Road property.
A caller reported a squirrel circling the area with erratic behavior near Lyons Road playground equipment July 14. It was gone when police arrived. Police advised the caller to stay away from live animals and to not feed or chase them.

On July 14, a Walworth Avenue woman reported her dog was accidentally locked inside a parked and running car. The air conditioning was on so the car was cool. Patrol assisted in attempting to have spare keys or a locksmith brought to the location. Before such arrangements could be made, patrol had firefighters respond in order to remove the dog. Firefighters were able to unlock the vehicle, and it was found to be of a cool temperature inside, and the dog appeared in good health.

On July 11, a person walked into headquarters and reported a lost license plate.

On July 14, a person walked into headquarters and reported lost license plates due to trading in a car in Massachusetts.

A New Jersey caller reported leaving a black backpack containing diapers near a dumpster at Quaker Ridge School July 14. Police picked it up and held it for safekeeping.

Firefighters
On July 10, oil filled pan started smoking in a Cushman Road kitchen after the resident forgot about it. Firefighters helped ventilate to clear smoke from the house.
On July 10, firefighters helped a driver change a flat tire after she pulled into the fire station parking lot.

Firefighters assisted at two car accidents on the Bronx River Parkway July 10. One involved a driver hitting a parked Westchester County police car.

Firefighters addressed elevated carbon monoxide levels in a Normandy Lane house July 10.Firefighters shut the gas service to the pool house and stood by for Con Edison. Con Edison reps red tagged the shut off valve and informed the resident to get all the appliances, including the shut off valve, checked by a plumber prior to turning the gas back on.

On July 11, firefighters shut power to a sump pump with a burnt-out motor and advised replacement in a Carthage Road house.

On July 11, firefighters were directed to the third floor in a Walworth Avenue house.

At the top of the stairs, an electrical burning odor was detected. Firefighters traced the odor to an HVAC unit located in the attic storage room. They opened up the unit, and water came pouring out. The condensation pump was not working properly, and it flooded the HVAC unit with water, which shorted out part of the electric board. Firefighters shut power to the HVAC unit and advised the resident to have repaired.

On July 12, firefighters were dispatched to Mamaroneck Road and Palmer Ave for an outside odor of burning. Upon investigation, fire department crews determined the source of the odor to be a lawn mower with a fuel flooded motor.

On July 14, firefighters arrived to disconnect the battery of a constantly sounding alarm on Inness Road, but the battery was already dead when firefighters arrived.

Firefighters were called to a Stonehouse Road house for a smoking electrical panel July 14.

On July 14, firefighters found water intrusion into the alarm panel in the utility closet of a Brookby Road basement. They disconnected power to isolate the panel and advised the resident to call the alarm company for service and a general contractor to protect against any future water intrusion issues.

On July 14, firefighters assisted at numerous flood related calls, including helping a stranded motorist get out of a car stuck in three feet of floodwater on Brookby Road.

PostOffice2The Post Office in the Golden Horseshoe Shopping Center is closed indefinitely after an accident at 1:20 pm on Thursday July 6. An elderly driver drove a black Audi over the sidewalk and into the exterior wall of the post office on Thursday July 6. The accident cracked the outside brick wall but also compromised the integrity of the building. Inside the glass door is broken, the window area is in disarray and the entry is taped off. Two postal workers who are working inside advised visitors not to step inside. They said that they do not know when the damage will be repaired.

Stolen
On July 9, patrol was approached by a man who reported that his bike was stolen from a bike rack on East Parkway. It was described as a gray specialized hybrid bike secured to the rack with a lock at approximately 10:30 a.m. The man said he went into Starbucks for approximately 5 minutes, and upon his return, he noticed his bike was no longer on the bike rack.

Earlier this week, a package marked as delivered to a Drake Road house was reported as stolen July 3.

Burglary activity
A Meadow Road resident reported finding damage to a rear door that could indicate a possible burglary attempt July 4. Criminal entry to the house was not successful.
On July 7, a Sheldrake Road woman reported her house had been burglarized.

Identity theft
On July 3, a Shawnee Road man reported suffering financial loss due to identity theft. He presented a letter received June 30 related the incident.PostOffice1

Altercations
On July 6, police separated two individuals fighting on the platform of the Scarsdale train station and waited for MTA police to arrive.

On July 6, police mediated a verbal dispute between two drivers whose cars were parked on Depot Place. One driver could not enter her car because the cars were parked too close together.

Suspicious
A sticky substance was found on a public mailbox at Woodland Place. Police blocked off the box and notified the post office July 8.

Wrong address
On July 5, a Rodney Road man reported receiving a FedEx envelope addressed to an unknown party, with the man’s address on the shipping label. Police advised him to return the envelope to FedEx.

Help
Police were asked to help with a male who would not follow the rules of the recreation department summer camp at Edgewood School July 3. Police spoke with the male, and he complied.

A mother visiting her daughter went out for a walk and got lost in the area of Cushman and Mamaroneck roads July 4. Police provided her with a courtesy ride home.

A caller reported a possibly intoxicated man lying down at a bus stop on Fenimore Road July 6. Police checked on the man and discovered he had a laceration on his head. He declined assistance and said he was waiting for the next bus, due to arrive in 10 minutes.

Landscapers working on Sheldrake Road reported discovering a hole in a resident’s second floor window, possible made by a rock July 7.

A woman was sitting on a bench crying during the Village center famer’s market July 8. Police offered assistance, but the woman just got up and walked away without saying anything.

Civil matter
On July 7, Brambach Road residents were trimming shrubs on the property line and arguing about it. Police mediated the dispute and advised them to only trim shrubs on their respective sides of the property line.

Cars and roadways
On July 3, a New Rochelle driver was observed on Popham Road driving with a cell phone in hand. A traffic stop was conducted and multiple summonses were issued, including a summons for unlicensed driving.

On July 4, a wire fell on Eastwoods Lane July 4. Police stood by for Con Edison.

A driver reported striking a fire hydrant at Walworth Avenue and Fenimore Road July 4. There were no injuries, and firefighters and water department workers arrived to address the hydrant.

Police conducted a traffic stop of a car travelling without functional taillights on Crane Road July 5. Multiple summonses, including a summons for unlicensed driving, were issued to the Spring Valley driver.

On July 5, a car battery died on Mamaroneck Road. Police stood by while the driver waited for her husband to arrive to jump the battery.

On July 6, police found a parked vehicle with scofflaw status in Village center. While police were on scene, the vehicle’s owner arrived and stated that she would pay the unpaid parking tickets immediately. Dispatch contacted Scarsdale Village Court and authorized the owner to come in and pay the tickets instead of having the vehicle towed.

On July 7, following a chain reaction rear-end collision involving four cars on Fenimore Road, police issued a summons to one Mount Vernon driver charged with driving with a suspended registration.

Police and firefighters secured a low-hanging utility wire on Weaver Street July 9.

An illegally posted sign on Fenimore Road was removed and discarded from a homeowner’s front lawn July 5. The homeowner said he did not place the sign there.

A Park Road outdoor speaker was accidentally transmitting music outdoors after 3 a.m., July 10. Police advised the homeowner, and the music was shut off.

Firefighters
On July 3, a primary electrical wire was down and burning on Stratton Road.  Con Edison was requested due to the proximity of the burning wire to the gas service of a house service. Firefighters checked the adjacent telephone poles for damage and blocked the area. Con Ed de-energized the downed wire at the top of the pole and checked for damage to the underground gas service. Con Ed Gas reps found no evidence of damage to their underground mains and service in that area.

On July 3, firefighters helped a Meadow Road resident turn off a gas grill.

On July 9, a Stratton Road resident reported her electric panel “blew out” and was smoking. Firefighters responded to the house. After entering the basement, personnel encountered light smoke with an odor of burning and noticed the electrical distribution panel with a hole blown through the door and charred throughout. Firefighters performed a thorough investigation throughout the structure and found no additional hazards other than the basement panel.

Con Edison also checked the house and advised that the residence was safe and instructed the homeowner to contact an electrician.

On July 9, a lightning strike knocked out power in another Stratton Road house. Firefighters and Con Edison investigated and advised the homeowner to contact an electrician.

fireworks6Arrested: On June 23, after receiving a report of a stolen Kia Sportage, worth $16,000, traveling through the Village, police conducted a traffic stop on Garden and Mamaroneck roads and arrested the driver – Juhunia M. Nichols, 23, of Brooklyn – and the passenger – Shawnton N. Edwards, 22, of Brooklyn. They were each charged with fourth and fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of a vehicle. Bail of $1,645and $1,650 were respectively posted and Nichols and Edwards were released on their own recognizance, pending a future court appearance.

Following a car accident at Freightway and Garth Roads June 23, in which one person was transported to the hospital for injuries, police learned one driver had a suspended driver’s license. The driver – Esteban Garcia, 35, of White Plains – was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He was released on cash bail of $1,722. In the accident, Garcia was accused of running a stop sign and turning into another person’s car.

Burglary
A Penn Boulevard house was burglarized while the homeowners were away sometime between June 24 and June 25. Police discovered pry marks around various windows and doors. A safe and its contents were missing.

Identity theft
On June 22, a Weaver Street man reports that, over the past weekend, his American Airlines "A Advantage" account was hacked and multiple hotel rooms were purchased in York, England by a party named "Lewis Richardson." The amount of miles disputed is 37,900, and the value of money disputed is $1,118.

On June 22, a Tunstall Road woman reported someone cashed three fraudulent checks against her account. Two checks were for $5,000. One was for $5,200.

Cars and roadways
On June 19, police removed a fallen wire from Boulevard and notified Verizon.
On June 19, a man reported a dark SUV drove onto his mother’s Dunham Road yard and left tire tracks. The man advised he wanted to handle the matter on his own.
On June 19, a driver advised of a verbal road rage incident that he had been involved in, earlier that day.
A motorcycle without a rear license plate was parked unattended on Clarence Road June 20. Police notified the owner about the plate violation, and the owner said he would rectify the matter and retrieve the motorcycle as soon as possible.
Police put a note on the windshield of an inconveniently parked car on Wildwood Road June 21.
On June 21, police issued a summons to a Larchmont driver using a cell phone while driving on Chase Road.
Police reported a fallen wire on Wayside Lane to Verizon June 21.
Police notified the water department about a dislodged fire hydrant on Popham Road June 23.
Police called a tow for a driver that ran out of gas on Weaver Street June 25.

A man sleeping on the train platform said he was tired and wanted to catch up on sleep June 23.

A kids’ play tent blew onto a neighbor’s lawn on Woods Lane June 25. Police notified the owner and returned the tent.

Damage
A projectile damaged a garage door June 20. Police were unable to determine if the projectile was something kicked up from landscaping equipment or something else.

Delivery
On June 21, a Stonehouse Road resident reported that lumber was unexpectedly dropped off at his yard.

Kids
Around 2 a.m., June 24, kids were banging on doors on Fox Meadow Road. Police advised the kids of dangers associated with such late-night actions. The kids apologized and left.

Civil matters
Police assisted library employees tell an unruly customer that the customer was banned for the library for three months due to disorderly behavior June 20.

On June 22, a Harwood Court medical professional told police that a woman arrived at his office without an appointment and was causing a disturbance. He stated she was dissatisfied and emotional over work that was done in the past. The professional asked police to inform the woman that she is no longer a patient and is not permitted on the premises in the future. Patrol spoke with the woman who stated she spent a lot of money and was not satisfied with the work. Patrol advised her of the doctor’s wishes and told her to go through legal channels.

On June 24, a Montrose Road resident asked police to document several instances she had with a recently fired babysitter. The sitter allegedly did not return keys and may also have possession of some household items, as per the resident.

On June 19, a passerby found a ring on Greendale Road and gave it to police.

Scam
A Saxon Woods Road man reported he received a text from an unknown party demanding Apple gift cards be sent to the unknown party so the unknown party would not post alleged photos of the man online. The man did not send the unknown party anything of value. Patrol advised the man that this was a scam and to cease all communication with the unknown party.

Domestic dispute
On June 28, police separated a man and a woman having a domestic dispute on the New Rochelle side of Weaver Street and waited for NRPD to arrive.

Welfare check
On June 27, police checked the welfare of a Lyons Road man. His car was not in the driveway; so it was assumed that he went out.

Death
A 97-year-old White Road woman died at home June 29.

Request
A Chesterfield Road man reported, on June 30, that he had received two unusual letters requesting money to start a business. One letter requested $10,000. One letter requested $100,000. The letters promised nothing in return, except the recipient’s gratitude.

Suspicious
On June 30, a Meadow Road resident reported suspicious behavior with people walking around her property. She said two individuals exited a vehicle, while a female driver remained inside the vehicle. After being confronted by the resident, the involved vehicle left the area. Patrol made contact with the female driver of the involved vehicle. She said that they had walked around the residence believing that the new owners had not moved in yet. She was very apologetic.

Civil matters
On June 29, a Nelson Road resident reported an incident with a contractor who received money for work in the fall and never returned to finish the job. Specifically, the resident said the contractor knocked on his door and solicited the work. The resident said he paid in full, $2,000.00, for repairs to be made to his driveway. He was present for the work and observed the contractor fill cracks in the driveway, but he said the contractor has not returned to smooth the surface and apply a coating. While on scene, patrol observed this condition. The resident said he recently contacted the contractor who promised to return later in the week.
The resident also said the contractor has not since returned any calls or messages. Police advised it was a civil matter.

On July 1, Richbell Road neighbors were arguing over the property line. Patrol suggested they reach out to the Scarsdale Building Department to get clarification on the location of the property line. Additionally, patrol suggested either erecting a fence or attempting to handle the matter in civil court if a mutual agreement could not be reached. In the meantime, patrol advised the involved parties to limit contact to avoid conflict.

Cars and roadways
A motorist ran out of gas at Post Road and Boulevard June 26. Police helped push the car into a parking lot and drove the motorist to a gas station to pick up a can of gasoline.
Police removed a fallen branch from Post Road June 27.
On June 27, a caller complained that a large shrub at the corner of Post and Kingston roads was obstructing a view of the roadways, making it dangerous for drivers. Police called the homeowner and advised trimming back the shrub.

Following a traffic stop for a broken tail light observed on Fenimore Road June 28, police issued the Valhalla driver summonses for a suspended registration, driving without valid insurance and unlicensed driving. The car was towed to the driver’s home, and license plates were removed.
On June 28, a Christie Place woman advised she might have been in an accident in the past but was unsure. She advised that her
Driver’s side mirror was damaged and "hanging" from a prior incident, however when she was arrived home, she observed the glass from the side mirror to be hanging and shattered. The woman could not confirm that she was in an accident or describe another vehicle that she may have collided with. Patrol inspected the side mirror and observed the plastic from the back of the mirror to be missing, which was from a previous incident. Patrol did not see signs of impact or damage from a collision with another vehicle. The woman was advised to contact her auto body shop for repairs.
On June 28, police noticed a parked car with its door ajar in a Mamaroneck Road parking area. Patrol contacted the owner who said he was on a nature walk and is currently positioned 20 minutes away from the location on foot. The owner stated that he is staying with his family who lives in Village. He requested police to close and lock his door.
Police notified Verizon about a loose wire on Secor Road June 29. Later, they taped up the wire.
A Cohawney Road woman reported finding an upholstery nail in one of her car’s tires June 29.
Police helped a woman find her parked car in Village center June 29.
A truck parked at Crossway field needed to be moved because of the fireworks display June 29. Patrol attempted to make contact with the vehicle owner with negative results. The highway foreman stated that it was ok for the car to remain but wanted to give the driver instructions on how to leave after the lights had been shut off. Patrol left a diagram on the windshield of the truck showing how to safely exit the field.
On June 30, police called a tow for a vehicle that broke down at Drake and Post roads.
On June 30, police removed a fallen wire from Palmer Avenue.
A driver with a flat tire on Heathcote Road was waiting for a parent to bring a spare. It was 2:21 a.m., July 2.

Animals
A loose dog on Sprague Road was reunited with its owner June 26.

On June 29, a caller reported losing her dog, a large poodle mix, at the fireworks display

On July 1, a coyote was reported on Greenacres Avenue.

On July 2, a large bobcat with a bunny in its mouth allegedly passed through a Harvest Drive back yard. Later the bobcat was allegedly seen on Rural Drive.

Village code
On June 28, police removed and discarded an illegally posted sign on Saxon Woods Road.

On July 1, police removed and discarded an illegally posted sign on Brite Avenue. The owner was issued a summons.

Lost and found
On June 29, a department of public works employee found a cell phone on Mamaroneck Road. The owner’s brother-in-law arrived at headquarters to pick up the phone. Police contacted the owner who described the contents of the case, and police released the phone to the brother-in-law.

A passerby found a wallet at the Scarsdale pool and gave it to police who vouchered it for safekeeping June 29.
A Lenox Place woman reported losing her Uruguay passport at home or at her child’s school June 30.

Firefighters
On June 30, firefighters were called because of a strong chlorine-like odor in a Lincoln Road house, with a resident requesting EMS evaluation. The resident explained they were performing maintenance to a back-up battery to a sump pump when they accidentally mixed a bleach solution with the contents of a lead acid battery. This mixture produced a strong odor of chlorine inside the structure and at that point the resident called for FD assistance. The residents were checked by SVAC and refused additional treatment. Firefighters removed the battery from the structure and used an electric fan for ventilation until the odor dissipated.

Firefighters consulted with the Westchester Chief of Special Operations via phone to see about any special considerations that would be required from mixing these two chemicals. Firefighters instructed the resident to dispose of the battery at the Household Material Recovery Facility in Valhalla.

On June 28 and June 30, firefighters helped Con Edison check Gorham Road houses after gas was found at two sewer manholes in the street. Con Edison was ventilating the manholes and addressing the leak. No gas was found in any of the houses that had been checked.

Firefighters assisted with a car accident on Weaver Street June 29.

On July 1, firefighters were dispatched to Morris Lane for smoke detector activation. Upon arrival, crews noted an odor of burnt food. The occupant stated that a beef patty was being microwaved, and the microwave oven "blew up." The occupant noted the food burning and “threw the food out the window.” Negative extension of any fire was confirmed with thermal imaging cameras. No obvious damage to microwave oven was seen. Passive ventilation was utilized to clear residual smoke.

Firefighters assisted with a motorcycle accident on the Bronx River Parkway July 1.

On July 1, firefighters were dispatched to Saxon Woods Road for wires burning with a tree on fire. The nearest structural exposure was 50 feet away. Primary wires were confirmed to be arcing in contact with the tree. Con Edison was notified. One hose line was stretched to extinguish the base of the tree and the neighboring brush fire. A Con Edison technician sleeved multiple primary wires in contact with the tree. The tree and brush fires were extinguished, and the scene was turned over to Con Edison.

On July 1, a tree fell on a golf cart, trapping a golfer, at Hole 15 at Saxon Woods Golf Course July 1. Upon arrival, crews confirmed large tree was on the vehicle, and the vehicle’s roof was compressed down on the golfer. He was complaining of neck and back pain. Westchester County police assisted in providing spine immobilization, while firefighters used chain saws to cut tree limbs and Hurst cutters to remove the vehicle roof and extricate the golfer. The golfer was taken to the hospital by SVAC.

Firefighters assisted Hartsdale firefighters with a structure fire in their jurisdiction July 1.

On July 2, firefighters ventilated a Stratton Road house and stood by for Con Edison after elevated carbon monoxide levels were registered in the house. Later the readings were determined to be false alarms.

Stolen
On June 12, a Mount Vernon resident took a taxi from Fleetwood to Scarsdale. The fare was $24, The passenger paid with a $50 bill and the driver claimed to not have any change. The driver alleged he would return with the $26 in change. He never returned.
A Bradford Road woman reported a $30,000 pair of diamond earrings had been stolen from her house sometime in the past three years. She reported the incident June 14.
On June 18, a Stratford Road caller reported his $600 bike had been stolen from East Parkway.
On June 18, a Wayside Lane caller reported his bike had been stolen from Scarsdale High School.

Arrested
On June 13, Curtis Savage, 32, of Yonkers, was arrested on charges including an expired inspection sticker, a lapsed registration lapsed insurance and unlicensed driving. Savage also was shown to be wanted on a bench warrant issued out of Yonkers. He was later picked up by Yonkers police.

Identity theft
On June 12, a Westview Lane resident reported a fraudulent debit card and a fraudulent investment account had been opened in his name.

On June 12, a Tompkins Road resident reported that someone set up fraudulent accounts in his name at two separate banks.
Someone used a Fox Meadow man’s mother’s identity to open a fraudulent Venmo account June 13.

Criminal mischief
On June 14, an Innes Road woman reported returning to her parked car, a Honda CRV, and finding the rear window broken.

Disorderly conduct
A possibly intoxicated man put his hands on another man’s chest on Scarsdale Avenue and then caused a disturbance inside a local convenience store, asking employees and customers for money June 16.

Attempted burglary
At 2 a.m., June 15, a Highland Way resident reported someone with a flashlight attempted to open a rear door.

Welfare check
A sanitation worker asked police to check on an elderly Hutchinson Avenue resident whom had not been seen for several weeks and whose garbage had unusually not been placed outside June 12. Neighbors confirmed not seeing the resident. Police and firefighters entered the house to perform a welfare check. No one was found to be inside the house.

Police checked the welfare of a Carman Road woman who was determined to be OK June 14.

On June 15, a doctor’s office requested a welfare check of a Cooper Road resident. He was found awake in his bed. He declined any assistance.

Help
On June 12, police assisted other agencies conduct a search warrant of a Madison Road property. The house was neglected and was condemned by the Village.

On June 18, a mother reported her 9-year-old daughter had been at a function at the Girl Scout house and had been missing for 40 minutes. Police located the girl at a friend’s house and stood by until she was reunited with her parent.

Dispute
On June 13, an Edgewood Road man reported a dispute with a driver who parked outside his house. The driver allegedly made an offensive hand gesture to the man, due in part to the memory of a previous dispute over parking on the street in the same location. Police intervened and mediated the dispute. The driver said he would no longer park there, and the man requested extra police ridebys.

Civil matter
On June 18, a father came to headquarters to report that he gave his child a cell phone a few months ago, and the child’s mother took the cell phone away.

A Heathcote Road resident reported that his neighbor constantly allows his dog to defecate on his property June 18.

Cars and roadways
On June 12, a car was blocked in a Scarsdale Avenue parking spot. Police found the owner of the improperly parked car and asked the owner to move the car.
Police brought gasoline to a driver who ran out of gas near Murray Hill Road June 13.
Police called a tow for a disabled car on Heathcote Road and assisted a motorist with a disabled car on Olmsted Road June 13.
Police notified the highway department about tree branches on Crane Road June 13.
A dishwasher was placed on the side of Brewster Road for disposal June 13. Police wrapped it in caution tape.
A car was left running outside of Scarsdale High School June 13. Police turned off the ignition and then found the key fob inside the car’s cup holder. The car was again turned off; the owner was notified; and the key was given to the school secretary for safekeeping.
An Obry Drive branch was struck by lightning and fell to the street June 14. Police picked it up and notified Con Edison about fallen wires.
A fallen branch took down wires on Oak Lane June 15. Verizon and Con Edison were notified.
A branch fell on a Lincoln Road roof, taking down wires June 16. Verizon and Con Edison were notified.
Wires fell on Hampton Road June 16. Police contacted Verizon.
Police called a tow for a disabled vehicle on East Parkway June 17.
An Amazon driver accidentally locked himself out of his van on Cayuga Road June 17. Police stood by until a supervisor arrived on scene.

A loose white dog was picked up from Fenimore Road by New Rochelle Humane Society June 15. Later the owner called looking for the dog. Police referred her to NRHS.
