Scarsdale Democrats Urge You to Vote Row A

DemocratsTo the Editor, The 2026 midterm election is fast approaching. Despite the fact that Scarsdale is not a “battleground,” your vote is still very important. Scarsdale is represented by elected officials who work every day for the interests of us, their constituents.

They deserve your vote.

It is now more important than ever that we rally behind our federal, state, and county Democratic candidates who see government as a force for good--a government that protects fundamental rights, strengthens our economy, and works cooperatively with our international allies.

Do not be complacent--the threats to our democracy are real. The president and Republicans in Congress have caused great harm in these last two years. While the president has assumed (or tried to assume) powers normally reserved to Congress and the states, the Republican Congress has done nothing to assert its legitimate powers. Together, they have degraded and defunded public health and scientific research, harassed immigrant communities, engaged in an erratic foreign policy which alienates our allies, and threatened our very democracy by attempting to silence the press and interfere with voting and elections. And, perhaps most concerning is the president’s “war” in Iran, undertaken without a long-term plan or strategy, which is costing American lives and threatening our economy.

A vote in these midterms is a vote of confidence in our small “d” democracy. Do your part—vote!! The Scarsdale Democratic Town Committee urges voters to cast their ballots for the entire Democratic slate of candidates on Row A.

If you can, take advantage of in-person early voting which permits you to vote at a time and place that is most convenient for you. Early voting starts on Saturday, October 24 and lasts through Sunday, November 1. Any Westchester voter may vote at any early voting location in the county during the early voting period.

October 24 is also “golden day”--this is the last day you are able to both register to vote in person (if you qualify and haven’t previously registered) and vote in the 2026 election.

If you vote on Election Day, November 3, you must vote at your assigned polling location.
