2026 Bicycle Sundays! Since 1974, Westchester County residents have been enjoying the popular Bicycle Sundays program. It opens a 6.5-mile stretch of the historic Bronx River Parkway to bicyclists, skaters, joggers, and walkers on a series of Sundays throughout the warmer weather months each year. Bicycle Sundays is one of Westchester’s longest-running and popular recreational programs.

Event Information
The series runs on the following dates and times:

July 12 and 26 (8 a.m. - noon)
Sept. 13, 20 and 27 (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
Oct. 4 (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)

Bicycle Sundays is presented by Westchester County Parks and sponsored by Westchester Parks Foundation and its partners, through generous donations from co-presenting sponsors NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester and Con Edison, with Danny’s Cycles as the official Bicycle Sponsor.

During Bicycle Sundays, the parkway is open exclusively to non-motorized bicyclists, scooters and in-line skaters, e-bike class 1 only, plus walkers and joggers. Many points of entry and exit are along the way. from Exit 22 at the Westchester County Center to Exit 4 at Scarsdale Road in Yonkers. The round-trip distance is 13 miles. The road is closed to automobiles in that stretch of parkway. Admission is free and free parking will be available in the East Lot at the Westchester County Center.

On Tuesday September 15 at 7 pm, join local author Barbara Josselsohn in conversation with Marcia Bradley for a discussion of her new magical realism novel perfect for fans of The Lost Bookshop, The Glass House and The Keeper of Lost Things.

It was a shop full of wonder: sheets of colorful paper, pots of ink on every surface, and spools of ribbon suspended on gleaming brass hooks. But it was even more magical when it was filled with people. Rumor was that the owner, Tilly, could send letters to long-lost loved ones if you penned them on the long wooden desk…Everyone on the island would go there, not just to buy writing supplies, but to write these letters. To the people they’d not been able to say goodbye to, to the people they wished would come home. The Paper House was a place for grieving, for remembering, for forgiving. And now, years later, as Kayla reopens the beautiful front door, and feels the memories of her Great Aunt Tilly come flooding back, it has the chance to become a place for someone who lost everything to finally find herself again. If only Kayla can find the courage to face the ghosts of the past…

Copies of The Paper House will be available for sale courtesy of Bronx River Books and for signing by the author during the event.

The book offers never-before-reported access to the daily routines, mindsets, and personal trials faced by today’s major stars and tomorrow’s rising newcomers. Futterman is a veteran sports journalist with the New York Times. He has previously worked for the Wall Street Journal, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and the Star-Ledger of New Jersey, where he was a part of the team that won the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News in 2005. He graduated from Union College, and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. He lives in New York with his wife and children. In his spare time he runs marathons. He is starting to understand why.

Join documentarian Jack Kauffman for a screening of Uncorked Potential: The Wild Wines of Chile showcasing the food, culture, and wineries of regions throughout Chile. With a blend of breathtaking landscapes, a fascinating look inside the winemaking process, and interviews with the people who craft it, Uncorked Potential is an engaging exploration of wine for both the experienced sommelier and someone just learning viticulture and the wines of the world. There will be time for questions and answers at the end.

Uncorked Potential is a travel and wine docu-series exploring extraordinary winemaking regions around the world and is available for streaming via PBS. The previous episode featured wines from the Finger Lakes region in New York.

About the presenter

Jack Kauffman is an award-winning filmmaker, a certified sommelier, and an avid traveler. He has worked on vineyards in Andalucía, Spain and Colchagua Valley, Chile as well as oversaw a wine bar in Charleston, SC as the wine director and worked as a specialist at Sotheby's auction house in the wine department. Jack holds the WSET Level 3 rank with Merit, developed and ran the east coast business of a Napa Valley winery, studied at the IAU wine program in Aix-en-Provence, France, and graduated with distinction from Sonoma State University’s Wine Business course. When not traveling, he lives in Connecticut.

Freedom of Speech and Due Process are two of the fundamental rights of Americans, with an enormous amount of case law accompanying it. Learn some of the deeper nuances and challenge your assumptions of these cherished rights. We'll be joined by members of the New York County Lawyers Association to discuss the nature of First Amendment rights and their legal implementation in a lively presentation of recent real-life cases. You'll hear plaintiff and defendant arguments and the judicial decisions that followed. Moreover, you'll engage with thought-provoking questions and have the chance to weigh in and offer your opinions after discussing the cases and the larger issues in small groups.
