Notes on the Market: According to a second quarter report from Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s, there’s never been a better time to sell your house. Demand is up and inventory is low, resulting in bidding wars and fast sales. The report says, “It’s no secret that New Yorkers are relocating from the city to the suburbs in the face of the pandemic and ongoing social unrest. New York buyers are out in record numbers seeking housing in our suburban markets including Westchester County, Connecticut and the Berkshires, Massachusetts, while listings under contract and property showings are surging over this time last year. We believe buyer demand will be unparalleled in the months to come. Yet the supply of inventory is severely limited to meet this demand. Sellers who choose this moment to list will likely experience a level of buyer interest unmatched in recent memory.”
