Lately I have been wondering who was going to buy all the Scarsdale mega-mansions on the market. With many struggling to meet their monthly mortgage and tax payments on “modest” homes, are there still people out there with the means to purchase multi-million homes and pay annual real estate taxes in the six figures?
Apparently there are a few people left. This week, one of Scarsdale’s most beautiful homes at 29 Cooper Road was sold for $6,100,000 – just $825,000 off the asking price of $6,925,000. Estimated annual taxes are $136,424. The home sits on almost two acres on Cooper Road and is surrounded by a wraparound porch. The property includes a swimming pool complete with it’s own pool house. Originally built in 1910, the house was completely renovated in 2003 and now has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Even the three-car garage has radiant heat. Check out the photo of the wood-paneled library below – whoops that’s not the library, it’s the master bath!
