Police Report : Burglary and Car Break-ins this Week

Burglary, break-ins
On Sept. 12, a Sprague Rd. resident reported a burglary in the past. At least 23 items were missing.
On Sept. 13, a Walworth Ave. resident reported that someone broke into his parked car and stole money. The incident was captured by surveillance video.
On Sept. 14, a Mamaroneck Rd. resident reported that credit cards and a wallet were stolen from parked car.
Two tri-color bushes were stolen from a Sage Terrace lawn Sept. 14.
Stolen
A rental car, from a Scarsdale Ave. location, was not returned at the end of the agreed-upon rental period. The manager of the location called police to report that the car had been stolen Sept. 10.
Disputes
On Sept. 10, a crossing guard reported having an argument with a parent at Boulevard.
Brambach Rd. neighbors were having a dispute over a tree and an arborist bill for $500 Sept. 12.
A man reported having a negative interaction with a woman wearing a political hat that read “Is he dead yet?” while out walking on Sage Terrace Sept. 13.
Help
A Boulevard crossing guard said had been verbally accosted by a parent Sept. 10.
On Sept. 11, a recently fired employee was holding a sign outside the business on Scarsdale Ave.
On Sept. 11, police conducted a welfare check of a resident of a Post Rd. group home. Everything was in good order.
A man was allegedly arguing with passers-by outside a Scarsdale Ave. business Sept. 11. Police spoke with him, and he did not move on.
Domestic matters
Police mediated domestic disagreements between married Edgewood Rd. residents Sept. 11 and 13.
Cars and roadways
On Sept. 8, police asked drivers to move their cars to one side of the street on Murray Hill Rd.
On Sept. 8, police called a taxi for an older man who was attempting to catch a bus to get home.
On Sept. 9, police issued seven citations to drivers who parked in the fire lane outside the high school on Wayside Lane.
Police called a tow for a broken-down car at Hutchinson Ave. and gave the driver a courtesy ride to headquarters Sept. 9.
On Sept. 11, police asked drivers to move their cars from Lincoln Rd.
On Sept. 13, a Lyons Rd. homeowner reported that fruit fell from a neighbor’s tree and broke her parked car’s windshield. Police advised it was a civil matter.
Con Edison was notified about a branch on wires on Carthage Rd. Sept. 13.
One car accident was officially reported in the Village this week.
Library
On Sept. 9, a caller reported that a woman with white face paint and multiple bags attempted to get into the back seat of her vehicle while she was at the intersection of Olmsted Rd. and Post Road. The caller advised that when the involved party could not get into the vehicle, she waved and walked into the library. Patrol responded to the library and was met by library staff, who were aware of the complaint and wished for no police interaction. Staff further advised that the described party has been regularly visiting the library and has been following all rules. At this time, patrol spoke with the calling party who advised she was okay with the library staff's decision and would like the incident documented.
Animals
A fox was sighted near Brookby and Quentin roads Sept. 8.
Police reunited a lost dog and its owner, from Carthage Rd., Sept. 9.
A White Rd. resident reported that sick raccoons were on her property Sept. 10. Police provided trappers’ contact information.
A Cohawney Rd. resident reported an argument with a man who walks his dog on a wooded path adjacent to her home and allegedly does not clean up after the dog. Police spoke with both parties and mediated the dispute Sept. 11.
Village code
A Haverford Rd. man reported that a man driving a gray SUV stopped in his driveway, exised the car and appeared to be urinating in the bushes Sept. 10.
On Sept. 12, police removed and disposed of illegally-posted signs outside a Grand Park Ave. house and a Scarsdale Ave. business. Summonses were issued.
On Sept. 13, police removed and disposed of illegally-posted signs on Griffen Ave.. Summonses were issued.
On Sept. 13, police advised a Montgomery Rd. resident that neighbors had complained of noise from a party.
Lost and found
A Village resident reported losing a license plate somewhere in the Village Sept. 13.
An Audi key was found at Hyatt Field Sept. 14.
Firefighters
Wires were arcing for the house service at a Griffen Rd. residence Sept. 8. Firefighters shut service to the house and recommended calling an electrician.
On Sept. 9, a small gas leak was detected at a stove at Hitchcock Church on Greenacres Ave.
Firefighters shut the connection and stood by for Con Edison.
On Sept. 11, carbon monoxide entered a Taunton Rd. house through an open sewer cap during smoke testing. Firefighters advise the testing company to discontinue testing until a more suitable option was available that did not generate CO.
Firefighters responded to a car accident report on the Hutchinson River Parkway Sept. 14. However, no accidents were found.
