Police Report: BMW Stolen from Carstensen Road, Boy Injured in Punta Cana

Theft and burglaries: On Dec. 8, a Mamaroneck Rd. man reported that wire was stolen from his residence sometime within the last three days.
On Dec. 13, a 2026 BMW X5 was reported stolen from Carstensen Rd.
Homeless
A maintenance worker from a Popham Rd. building reported that a homeless person had been sleeping in the building’s garbage room located on Depot Place Dec. 9. The worker asked that the person be told to move along.
On Dec. 10, a doorman from Christie Place observed a person enter his building’s garbage room and did not see them leave. The person was described as a male wearing a hoodie, converse sneakers, jeans, a scarf and wired head phones. Patrol was able to make contact with the person and advised that he was on private property and could not hang out at the location. The man left without incident.
Identity theft
On Dec. 11, a Taunton Rd. man reported that he was the victim of identity theft. He advised police that he learned that a person attempted to open an account in his name on Dec. 4 and that the account was subsequently frozen.
On Dec. 13, a Park Rd. woman reported that a check she wrote and mailed had been stolen and washed.
Help
An Overhill Rd. caller told police he ws injured while in Punta Cana and asked police to help notify his parents that he was on his way to the hospital Dec. 12. Police went to his parents’ house at 4: 45 a.m. and notified them. They advised that they would get in contact with their son right away.
Disruption
On Dec. 14, an employee of 7-Eleven reported that a 17 or 18-year-old white male customer, driving a red car, was causing a problem and was no longer welcome in the store.
Cars and roadways
Police assisted a driver with a disabled car on Scarsdale Ave. Dec. 9.
Water was leaking from a Walworth Ave. house onto the street Dec. 9. Police assisted in turning it off.
A deer was struck by a car on Secor Rd. Dec. 9. Police assisted.
Police found a parked car with an open door on Lincoln Rd. Dec. 10. Police helped secure the car after the owner reported that nothing had been stolen.
Patrol cut a low-hanging wire on Ogden Rd. and notified Verizon Dec. 10.
A car was disabled at Palmer Ave. and Heathcote Rd. Dec.10. Police stood by until a tow company arrived to tow the car from the scene.
On Dec. 13, a car accident resulted in damage to a hedge, a bench and a parking meter on Boniface Circle.
Five car accidents were officially reported in the Village this week.
Village code
A neighbor complained that a Carstensen Rd. resident was playing Christmas songs too loudly Dec. 9. The resident turned off the music.
On Dec. 13, police removed illegally posted signs Mamaroneck Rd. and issued summons as appropriate.
Lost and found
Car keys for a BMW were found on East Parkway Dec. 8. Police vouchered them for safekeeping.
Firefighters
On Dec. 9, firefighters responded to a rubbish fire on Fenimore Rd. and successfully addressed it.
On Dec. 11, firefighters assisted at a car accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway.
On Dec. 12, firefighters assisted at a car fire on Post Rd.
