Arrested: On Jan. 14, police received reports of an elderly Indian man attacking a woman who appeared to be his girlfriend on Mamaroneck Rd. Police went to the scene and arrested the man. No further information was provided.
Stolen package
On Jan. 17, a Brite Ave. resident reported that a package was stolen overnight.
Check fraud
On Jan. 13, a Mamaroneck Rd. resident reported being the victim of check fraud.
Help
A private investigator involved with a medical lawsuit against a Palmer Ave. resident arrived at the resident’s house and was taking photos Jan. 13. Police advised her to refrain from visiting the house and to conduct the case through appropriate legal channels.
Police conducted a welfare check of an Edgewood wife Jan. 17. She was OK.
Broken window
On Jan. 12, a Rock Creek Lane resident reported that someone threw a rock through a window at her house, causing a five-inch hole in the storm window.
Cars and roadways
Police issued a summons to the driver of a car that was improperly parked on Carstensen Rd. Jan. 12.
Verizon was notified about low-hanging wires on Mamaroneck Rd. and Woods Lane Jan. 13.
A primary wire was lying on the ground at Penn Blvd. Jan. 14. Police notified Con Edison and blocked off the area for safety.

On Jan. 16, a Mamaroneck Rd. resident reported that a car hit a stop sign and drove onto his property around 12:30 p.m.
A vehicle struck and broke a fire hydrant on Leatherstocking Lane Jan. 17. (A reader reports that water was running out of the hydrant for several days before the leak was fixed.
Police conducted several traffic stops this week and issued summonses to drivers for violations including licensing, registration and insurance violations.
Five car accidents were officially reported in the Village this week.
