Restored Version of My Fair Lady Debuts in Scarsdale

my-fair-ladyThe 1964 version of My Fair Lady with Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn has been restored and will be released in theatres next month. The movie won eight Academy Awards in its day and will be aired in 600 theatres including the Alamo Ale House in Yonkers this year.

On Tuesday night October 13, Value Electronics on Popham Road in Scarsdale debuted the movie on all their screens, including their home digital theatre in the back of the store. You could see Hepburn singing "Wouldn't it be Lovely" on six screens and she looked more beautiful than ever in 4K.

On hand was Robert Harris a Scarsdale native who restored the film in 1994 and again this year. He told me that he grew up on Carthage Road and attended Greenacres Elementary School, before the Heathcote Elementary School was built!
