Violinist Anca Nicolau to Perform at Hoff Barthelson

The Hoff-Barthelson Music School HB Artist Series is pleased to present violinist Anca Nicolau with guest artists, Edward Aaron, cellist, and pianist Bernard Rose on Sunday, April 18, 4 pm, at Scarsdale Community Baptist Church, Popham and Autenrieth Roads, Scarsdale.
Violinist Anca Nicolau was born in Bucharest and won her first competition there at the age of nine. Her international career includes performance on both modern and period instruments. Ms. Nicolau is presently a member of the Mozartean Players Piano Trio, the Loma Mar String Quartet, the Amati Piano Trio, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, and the Drottningholm Theatre Ensemble. She often performs with the Axelrod String Quartet, the Smithsonian Chamber Players, The Four Nations Ensemble, the Bach Ensemble, Opera Lafayette, and the Handel and Haydn Society. She has recorded for EMI, Nonesuch, Decca, Musical Heritage and Sony Classical. Her touring and festival performances include Tanglewood, Caramoor, Spoleto, Wigmore Hall and the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
The program for the recital will feature Haydn’s Trio in E-Flat Major, Hoboken XV:22; Mozart’s Trio in E Major, KV 542; and Beethoven’s Trio, Opus 1 No. 1.
