Stolen: On April 30, a commuter reported his e-bike and chain lock were stolen from East Parkway.
Scam and identity theft
On April 30, an Innes Rd. woman reported she was contacted by phone by a scammer. She realized the call was a scam and hung up.
On May 3, a Gaylor Rd. resident reported receiving some fraudulent charges on her credit card.
Suspicious
Two individuals with flashlights were at a Horseguard Lane house at 10:37 p.m., April 28. They were scared off by a doorbell camera.
A parent of a child reported, on April 29, that approximately one week ago, that a third-grade girl was approached by a man while she was been walking home from Heathcote School. The man was driving a "small white, dirty sedan." The man reportedly gestured for the girl to approach the vehicle, which caused the girl to run home. No exact date could be established, and there was no further description of the male or the vehicle. The reporting party advised the parent of the child that if activity like this occurs, the police should be notified right away. The caller requested that extra ride-bys of the area be conducted around dismissal time.
On April 29, a Post Rd. resident reported she was walking her dog in the area of Mamaroneck and Cambridge Roads when she observed a male with long hair, in a dark blue sedan driving on Mamaroneck Rd. The resident further stated that when she turned around to head back towards Post Rd., the male followed them and parked his vehicle on Rugby Ln. The resident stated that at no time did the male gesture or say anything to her, but she felt that this was suspicious. Patrol canvassed the area yielding negative results.
A caller advised that a person was using a drone in the area of Drake and Hamilton roads, and she thought it was suspicious May 1.
Mysterious
On April 30, patrol arrived to a Weaver St. address and spoke with the homeowner, who showed patrol footage of his car’s lights turning on. The footage did not show anyone approaching his vehicle or residence; and no damage to property or any criminal activity was revealed to be taking place. Patrol conducted a perimeter check, and all was in order. No further assistance was needed.
Help
A woman dropped her wallet down a sewer grate on Spencer Place April 30. Police and firefighters helped her retrieve it.
At 2 a.m., May 2, a woman called and said she left property inside a friend’s house on Garden Rd., and after a verbal dispute, he is not allowing her to retrieve her personal belongings. Patrol arrived on the scene and told the friend that the woman left her wallet inside his house. The wallet was produced, and all contains were found to be inside.
A TV was delivered to the front of a Drake Rd. house May 2. The resident asked for help in moving it to the back of the house.
Police contacted West Hampton police to conduct a welfare check on a person in need of mental health services May 2. The person’s parents reside in Scarsdale.
Cars and roadways
On April 28, police notified Verizon about a low-hanging wire over Lebanon Rd.
On April 28, police Patrol observed multiple vehicles honking and appearing to be confused by traffic control set up at Post and Olmsted roads. Patrol further observed multiple vehicles almost get into motor vehicle accidents due to the lack of visibility of highway personnel and the altered traffic pattern. No detour signs were set up and motorists were confused. Police advised the job foreman that police should be present to assist.
On April 29, police notified Con Edison about arcing wires on Mamaroneck Rd.
Police notified Verizon about a fallen wire on Ridgecrest Rd. April 30 and low-hanging wires on Edgewood Rd. and Boulevard May 1.
A disabled car was removed from Popham Rd. May 3.
On May 3, at approximately 3:03 am., patrol responded to an iPhone crash detection activation alert at Post and Richbell roads. Upon arrival, patrol observed a two-vehicle accident with injuries. An accident report was completed. One vehicle was towed, and one occupant was transported to White Plains Hospital Medical Center for further medical evaluation.
Animals
On April 30, police reunited a lost dog, found on Boulevard, with its owner.
On May 3, police reunited a lost dog, found on Church Ln., with its owner.

On April 29, A Hamilton Rd. resident reported a young man was soliciting in the area.
On April 30, police removed illegally-posted signs from Canterbury Rd., Olmsted Rd. and Boulevard.
On May 2, police removed illegally-posted signs from Post Rd.
On May 3, a Catherine Rd. resident was informed about the need for a work permit to continue conducting work on the property.
On May 3, several residents complained about loud youth screaming and speeding in their cars in the street on Catherine Rd. and Hamilton Rd. police questioned them and told them to quiet down. The youth said they were participating in a scavenger hunt.

Lost and found
A Secor Rd. man reported losing a license plate somewhere in the Village April 28.
On April 30, a Brewster Rd. resident reported losing a license plate somewhere in the Village.
On May 1, a Butler Rd. resident reported losing his car’s license plates after the car was sold and surrendered.
On May 1, a person walked into headquarters and reported losing a cell phone.
On May 2, a Garden Rd. resident reported finding items inside his car.
On May 4, a Mamaroneck Rd. resident reported losing her wallet while traveling.
Firefighters
On April 28, firefighters assisted at a car accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway.
On April 29, firefighters called Con Edison to check on a potential gas leak on Madison Rd. related to a contactor working on a boiler.
On April 29, a small fire broke out on one of the railroad ties near the Scarsdale train station. Firefighters used a pressurized water can to attack fire. The fire was put out before the next arriving train, so no hazard was extended to the third rail.
Firefighters helped a Lawrence Rd. resident turn off an outdoor spigot April 30.
On April 30, firefighters were dispatched to a Spencer Place store for a carbon monoxide investigation with individuals feeling ill. Firefighters encountered three employees complaining of feeling sick while working inside the store. Firefighters moved those people to the sidewalk outside of the store and checked the space with four gas meters.
Firefighters found no strange odors or carbon monoxide on either level of the store, and there were no carbon monoxide or gas alarms activated. All three people were evaluated by paramedics; two were checked and refused further medical intervention, while one was transported to Westchester Medical Center for evaluation. Firefighters found no observable hazards at the location, and the store was reoccupied.
On May 3, firefighters responded to a Post Rd. car accident with injuries, involving a hydrant. On arrival, units found a two-vehicle accident. All occupants had self-extricated and were in the care of Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps. One vehicle was over a retaining wall, up against a tree. The other vehicle was up against the first vehicle with the hydrant under the front bumper. The hydrant had been sheered from the water main, and water was flowing down the street. A telephone pole had also been struck and compromised. Con-Ed electric and water departments were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters stabilized the scene and assisted other departments in the mitigation and clean-up of the scene.
Firefighters helped lift a Cooper Rd. patient for hospital transport May 3 and a Saxon Woods Rd. patient May 4.
On May 3, firefighters responded to a carbon monoxide incident caused by an overcharged sump pump battery in a Bradley Rd. house. Firefighters disconnected the battery and placed it outside. They ventilated the house and recommended replacing the battery.
On May 4, firefighters helped a Tompkins Rd. resident first-floor air conditioner cover as a one-time courtesy, although such a job is outside the normal scope of work for the fire department.

Police Report: Water Stolen from Fire Hydrant, Brush Fire Burns Between Library and High School, Cat Stuck in Wall

Water: The water department advised that someone was stealing water from a Cornell Street fire hydrant location April 25.
Identity theft
On April 21, a Chateaux Circle resident reported that his WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram accounts had been hacked with login attempts from Russia.
On April 25, a resident reported that someone opened an LLC in his name fraudulently.
Suspicious
A caller thought she was being followed April 22. She was in New Rochelle at a store, and New Rochelle police were contacted. The suspect allegedly drove away from the store when police pulled up.
A Post Rd. resident reported that someone rang his doorbell and ran away at 10:45 p.m., April 22.
On April 23, a Myrtledale Rd. resident reported seeing a person walking around her property on her doorbell camera. Investigation proved that the man belonged to a service provider with whom the resident had a contract for more than 17 years.
An Edgewood Rd. caller requested, on April 23, an exterior check of the residence due to an unusual image of a bird captured on his indoor camera. The caller was not home, and the caller was curious if the residence was open. All was in order, from what could be checked.
Safety
An Edgewood Rd. mother reported she was having difficulty with her eight-year-old son who did not want to wear a helmet while riding his bike April 26. She did not request police response.
Dispute
Patrol assisted a cab driver and a passenger resolve a misunderstanding about cab fare due to a language barrier on Greenacres Ave. April 27.
Death
A Brite Ave. man reported that his 42-year-old wife passed away at home April 23. No further information was provided.
Cars and roadways
On April 22, police issued summonses to cars parked in violation of parking restrictions on Brambach and Alida roads.
A driver was asked to move his parked car from a position that blocked a Hampton Rd. driveway April 22.
A low-hanging wire was reported on School Lane April 23. Police notified the utility providers.
Con Edison was notified about a low-hanging wires, a dangling connector and a dangling chainsaw on Richbell Rd. April 23.
On April 24, a woman was walking in the street on Post Rd. She said she was walking off some steam, and police advised her of the hazards of walking on the road.
Police moved a dead animal to the side of Drake Rd. April 25.
Police organized a tow for a disabled car on Post Rd. April 26.
Two car accidents were reported in the Village this week.
Village code
On April 21, police removed illegally posted signs from Olmsted Rd. and Walworth Ave. And on April 25, police removed illegally posted signs from Post Rd. Summonses were issued, as appropriate.
On April 25, police three times notified staff of a noise complaint at a Secor Road establishment. Following the third notification, the music was turned off.
Dogs
A dog was barking loudly on the deck of a Coralyn Rd. house April 21. Police told the housekeeper to bring the dog inside while she was working.
On April 22, a Greenacres Ave. man allegedly got bitten by a dog while out walking with his wife on Brewster Rd. Medical services were refused.
On April 22, police reunited a lost dog, found in the Village, with its owner. Police issued a summons to the dog owner.
Lost and found
A resident reported losing a driver’s license somewhere in the Village April 21.

On April 21, a Post Rd. woman reported that her son found a pair of air pods at the high school.
A key fob was found on Fenimore Rd. April 27.
Firefighters
On April 22, firefighters helped rescue a cat that got stuck behind a wall in a Highland Way house. The resident arrived home that evening from vacation and heard her cat in the wall.
The house was under renovation in a portion of the first floor, and new drywall had been secured to an interior wall recently. Thermal imaging cameras revealed movement behind the drywall.
The drywall was only screwed on. No tape or paint had been applied yet. Crew unscrewed the drywall, and the cat came out. The cat was reunited with the resident.
On April 24, firefighters were dispatched to the area of the Scarsdale Library for a reported brush fire on Olmsted Rd., in Harwood Park. Firefighters set up on Post Road and stretched 100 feet of hose to the area. 500 gallons of water was used to extinguish a 20'x20' area of vegetation that was burning. The area was thoroughly saturated and overhauled. No obvious signs of ignition were observed. A passerby found the condition, reported it, and spoke with firefighters. He found the fire but did not observe a cause or people in the area.
On April 24, firefighters were dispatched to Brite Ave. for an inside odor of gasoline inside the garage. Firefighters confirmed the odor. A gasoline generator was located inside the garage and found to be slowly leaking gasoline onto the concrete floor. The generator was moved outside to the rear of the structure and the resident was advised to have the unit serviced. The garage was ventilated prior to firefighters’ departure – although the odor remained. The resident was advised to leave a door open to allow fresh air to enter the space.

Con Edison was notified about sparking wires on Stratton Rd. April 25.
Firefighters assisted at a car accident on the Hutchinson Parkway ramp on Mamaroneck Rd. April 27.
On April 2, firefighters detected a slight odor resembling a gas odor on Cooper Rd. They stood by for Con Edison. Con Edison measured the sewers, and their equipment did not detect any gas leaks.

Police Report: Package Containing iPhone Stolen from Franklin Road Porch and a Car Fire on the Bronx River Parkway

Stolen package: On April 10, a Franklin Rd. man reported a stolen package. He stated at approximately 4 pm, he observed on video surveillance a FedEx employee dropped off a package containing an iPhone 16 PRO and an iPhone case at the front door. About 10 minutes later. he observed on video surveillance a gray or light blue Honda CRV traveling westbound on Franklin Rd. toward Haverford Ave. stop in front of his house. He saw a Hispanic or light black male wearing a red hoodie, black pants, and black and white sneakers exit the vehicle and walk toward the porch and steal the package. The suspect walked back to the vehicle and left the scene westbound on Franklin Rd. toward Haverford Ave. The vehicle was occupied by at least two parties.
Identity theft
An unknown person withdrew funds from a Woods Lane man’s bank April 9.
Cars and roadways
On April 7, police saw people pushing a disabled car on Post Rd. Police offered to call a tow, but the driver said her husband would pick it up the next day.
A parked car was blocking a Hampton Rd driveway April 8. Police deduced the car belonged to someone at the high school. Staff made an announcement, and the car was moved.
On April 8, police notified Con Edison that a transformer on Putnam Road had darkened in color.
Police cleared empty boxes from Morris Lane April 8.
Police dispatched a tow for a disabled car on Griffin Ave. April 9.
The highway department was informed about fallen insulation on Post Rd. April 10. Police moved a bag of garbage out of the roadway and onto the curb on Popham Rd. April 12.
A driver hit a pothole and sustained two flat tires, leaving his car on Rochambeau Rd. overnight April 12.
Another car got a damaged tire from a Mamaroneck Rd. pothole April 12.
On April 12, police conducted a traffic stop on Church Lane. It occurred after police ran the vehicle's plates, and they came back to a different vehicle. The operator was issued associated violation tickets. The vehicle was then towed. The driver was from Waterbury, CT.
One car accident was officially reported in the Village this week.
Civil matter
On April 8, a Kathy Lane man reported he was having issues with a moving company regarding several items he was attempting to sell.
A Garth Rd. business manager reported he hired a scaffolding company to set up for a job April 9. He paid a deposit for the job. The company failed to get a permit, and the job was delayed. The manager then said he was having a hard time getting the company to finish the job.
Suspicious
On April 9, a Walworth Ave. woman reported seeing a white man in his 50s on her porch. He then walked back to a car occupied by an unknown white male and left the scene. The woman stated she stopped the car and asked why he was at her residence. She stated the unknown man said they were canvassing for a company and issued her an
advertisement flyer. She stated she returned to her front porch and did not observe any
flyers. She further stated she did not observe the unknown parties attempt to contact other residences. She believed the incident was suspicious.
A 911 call originated from a Palmer Ave location after 2:30 a.m., April 12. (11 operators said arguing could be heard in the background of the open phone line. Police went to the scene and saw people moving items into a garage in order to prevent them from getting wet, according to the people on scene. The 911 call was an apparent “pocket dial” call.

A Hazelton Drive resident reported an aggressive solicitor April 8. The solicitor was gone when police arrived.
On April 9, police removed a sign posted in the Village right of way On Post Rd. A summons was issued.
On April 10, police removed signs posted in the Village right of way on Post Rd. and Fenimore Rd. A summons was issued.
On April 11, police removed signs posted in the Village right of way on Butler Rd. and Lincoln Ave.
On April 12, police removed signs posted in the Village right of way on Post Rd. A summons was issued.
On April 12, police told a construction crew on Springdale Rd. to stop work before designated hours.
Animals
A dead bird was reported on Quaker Ridge School grounds April 11. Police went to the scene, bur custodial staff had already left.
Lost and found
A Kensington Road resident reported losing his driver’s license and Social Security card April 7.
On April 9, a person found a cell phone on Boulevard and brought it to police.
Firefighters
Firefighters assisted at a car accident on Boulevard April 7.
Wires were arcing at a Chesterfield Rd. house April 7. Firefighters stood by for Con Edison.
A U-Haul driver accidentally locked his keys inside the truck on Heathcote Rd. April 7. Firefighters opened the door.
On Sunday, April 6, at approximately 7:30 PM, Scarsdale fire responded to a dispatch regarding a "transformer leaking fluid" at 4 Putnam Road. Upon investigation, the fire officer on scene found no evidence of leakage from the transformer. Instead, the liquid observed at the base of a tree was determined to be sap from freshly cut limbs. Assuming this call originated from the homeowners at 4 Putnam Rd, the fire officer attempted to make contact but was unsuccessful. This incident was categorized as a "good intent call," requiring no further intervention by the fire department. However, on April 8, firefighters received a landline call from dispatch with additional details from a Sage Terrace resident. The resident was concerned with the discoloration of the transformer in conjunction with the liquid on the tree. Firefighters responded to assess the transformer further. The liquid dripping from the tree was confirmed to be sap and is unrelated to the transformer or utility pole. While a darkened transformer does not necessarily indicate a current
issue—since prior repairs might not require full equipment replacement—the resident's observation of an acute change in its appearance prompted a ticket with Con Edison's municipal dashboard. A Con Edison representative was dispatched for evaluation.
On April 8, firefighters were called to a car fire on the Bronx River Parkway. They started fire suppression using booster tanks. Approximately 750 gallons of water used to suppress the main body of fire. Approximately 250 gallons of water was used for overhaul.
Firefighters assisted at a car accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway April 9.
On April 10, firefighters helped change smoke detector batteries in a detector on a vaulted ceiling in a Fox Meadow Rd. house.
Fireplace smoke was escaping inside a Corell Rd. house April 10. Firefighters extinguished the fire, and the smoke then vented out naturally.
A defective boiler was releasing carbon monoxide into a Park Rd. house. Firefighters stood by for Con Edison and ventilated the house. The boiler was red tagged.

Police Report: Fraudulent AT&T Account Opened, Zelle Payment Goes to Unknown Person, and Family Awakens to Mystery Dog in Dining Room

Zelle and Fraud: A River Road man reported sending a Zelle payment to an unknown person by mistake. He said, after sending the money incorrectly, the unknown person stopped answering his texts April 16. Police advised the man to contact his bank.
On April 19, a Benedict Road resident reported that someone opened up a fraudulent AT&T account in his name.
Missing IRS Documents
On April 20, a Barry Rd. resident reported that his accountant notified him that the family’s completed tax packets were missing. The man was told by his accountant that the tax packets were dropped off at a USPS drop box, out of jurisdiction, but a send notification was never sent.
Cars and Roadways
On April 15, police notified the highway department about a fallen street sign at Post and Ferncliff roads.
A 48-year-old male pedestrian was stuck by a Village pickup truck on Ramsey Road April 15.
The driver was backing out of an alley when his truck struck the pedestrian who was walking east. The driver stated he heard yelling, which prompted him to stop backing out.
The man complained of multiple areas of pain and was transported to Westchester Medical Center.
A tree fell on power lines on Dickel Road April 15. Police notified Con Edison and the highway department.
On April 15, police advised Verizon of a fallen wire on Rectory Lane.
A car was stopped in a “no standing“ zone on Woodland Place April 16. Police spoke to the driver who said she had pulled over to get something out of her back seat. She apologized and left.
Police called a tow for a disabled car on East Parkway April 18. The tow truck driver changed a tire, and the driver was able to leave the scene.
On April 20, police conducted a traffic stop of a speeding car on Fenimore Road Police issued the driver summonses for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operation of a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver and speeding.
Four car accidents were officially reported in the Village this week.
Scavenging
On April 14, a caller reported seeing a man picking up cans and following a sanitation truck. Police spoke with the man, told him about Village code regarding scavenging and offered to connect him with services to assist him in finding a job.
Suspicious
On April 14, a Hutchinson Avenue resident reported seeing a person walking on his property at 5 a.m. wearing a reflective shirt. When the doorbell camera announced, “You are being recorded,’ the man left.
Someone rang a Roosevelt Place doorbell and quickly left the scene, causing the homeowner to feel alarmed April 15.
A man claiming to be from Con Edison knocked on a Hampton Road woman’s door and asked to check the meters April 16. The woman provided access into a “small basement,” and the man looked at the meters and left. The woman called Con Edison to check on the employee, but Con Edison did not seem to have a record of any employees going to her house. She thought this was suspicious and notified police.
Help
Police helped a Rugby Lane woman access her phone, after a service provider was unable to reach her and was thus concerned April 16.
Police checked the welfare of a Richbell Road resident April 17.
On April 18, police observed an elderly female leaning on a bush appearing to be in need of assistance on Garth Road. Police approached the female, and she requested help her to her residence on Garth Rd. Police escorted the elderly female to her home and provided her
with a glass of water. The female nearly fell in patrol’s presence while attempting to sit in a chair. Police made phone contact with Eastchester police and requested an EVAC response.
The woman refused medical attention.
Village Code
On April 15, police observed illegally posted signs in the Village right of way on Oak Lane, Palmer Ave. and Fenimore Road. They removed the signs and issued summonses.
Kids on Sycamore Road were playing outside and being too noisy April. Polcie advised the nanny, and she apologized.
Animals
On April 17, police reunited a loose dog with its Crossway owner.
On April 18, a Popham Rd. man reported that he woke up to find a dog in his dining room. He advised that a blue Volvo pulled into his driveway an hour in the past, and he believed the driver they might have dropped the dog off at his house. In addition, a bag containing the dog's food, medicine, leash, and toys was also found with the dog. The man believed the dog was dropped at his residence in error. Patrol contacted the veterinarian listed on the dog’s collar in attempt to obtain the owner's contact information. The veterinarian’s assistants stated they would call back with the information once retrieved. Patrol removed the dog to headquarters temporarily. A dog sitter called and advised that she was supposed to dog sit her friend’s dog, and it was dropped off at the wrong address. She responded to retrieve the dog.
Lost and Found
On April 15, a license plate fell off a car belonging to a Walworth Ave. driver. It was lost somewhere in the Village.
On April 15, a Drake Road man reported losing his wallet somewhere in the Village.
On April 18, a license plate fell off a car belonging to a Jefferson Road driver. It was lost somewhere in the Village.
Firefighters
On April 14, firefighters responded to a car accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway.
Con Edison turned off a gas supply due to a leak in a Ridgecrest West house April 15.
On April 17, firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a Barry Rd. gas leak.
On April 19, firefighters investigated a boiler issue at a Carman Road house. On arrival, firefighters found a circulator pump located on the boiler that was running nonstop and that was uncharacteristically hot. Fire units shut down power and gas to the boiler, and they advised the resident to have the system serviced.

Police Report: Stonehouse Road Housefire, Counterfeit Money at Village Hall and Theft from SHS Locker Room

Counterfeit money: Village Hall reported receiving a counterfeit $100 bill from a business paying for services owed to the Village April 3. According to police, the total bill was for “a small amount,” and the incident is currently under investigation.”
House fire
On April 3, firefighters were dispatched to a house fire on Stonehouse Rd. Upon arrival, smoke was showing from the eaves of the structure, and firefighters stretched hose lines and made connections to nearby fire hydrants. Firefighters confirmed that all occupants were out of the structure and learned that there was a major renovation underway in the basement and on the main level. A basement fire was confirmed.
Firefighters repositioned the hose line and attacked the fire. Firefighters opened windows on the second level to assist with ventilation. The main body of fire was located following a search, and it was knocked down. An electric fan was positioned at the front door to ventilate the first and second levels. Firefighters operating in the basement started opening up walls and ceilings to ensure that no extension occurred to the floor above. The fire appeared to originate from a sauna located in the basement. Extensive efforts were made to overhaul that area to locate hidden pockets of fire.
Due to high heat encountered on the first and second levels, a handline was moved to the second floor to ensure that no fire spread occurred. Firefighters found smoldering doors, casing, and baseboard trim on those levels, but no fire spread beyond those components.
Scarsdale volunteer firefighters were enlisted to find and extinguish the smoldering items with hand tools and water cans. Smoke and heat were found to be trapped in the attic, accessed by drop-down stairs. One window was removed to allow for ventilation of that space. Con Edison Gas and Electric secured the utilities, and the water service was shut at the meter do to damage to the water lines in the kitchen.
A Scarsdale Building Dept. representative responded to evaluate the condition of the structure. The Scarsdale Cause and Origin team was requested. The homeowners were advised to contact their insurance company to initiate the remediation process. The Scarsdale Building Department determined that the home was not safe for occupancy and provided instructions to the homeowners. The Scarsdale Cause and Origin Team commenced an investigation. The home had been undergoing renovation to the basement, kitchen and adjacent rooms. The area of fire origin was determined to be a sauna room in the basement. The cause remains under investigation.
Stolen package
On April 3, packages were reported as stolen from a Drake Rd. porch.
Stolen gift cards
A Clarence Rd. student’s bookbag was rummaged through, and gifts cards totaling approximately $500 were stolen while the student was at sports practice April 4. The bag was in her locker at the time.
Identity theft
On April 3, a Benedict Rd. resident reported receiving letters in February, stating the accounts had been attempted to be opened in his name. These were fraudulent, and they were rejected. He checked his credit report and noticed personal information, including address and phone number, had been changed. A fraudulent charge of $200 also appeared on one account. He requested that his accounts be frozen.
Civil matters
On March 31, a Church Lane church employee reported that a man came to the church requesting vendor payment for a church event from Nov. 2024. She told him she need to access the Venmo account for the church to verify if payment had already been made or not. He said he would return later that day for payment. Police told the employee to call headquarters if the man returned, so police could explain to him the proper channels by which to request payment and argue his dispute, if necessary, through civil procedure. On April 2, the man returned to the church. It became clear that, while a Veno payment was initiated, the payment never went through. So, the employee presented the man with a check for payment.
On March 31, a Church Lane woman reported that her dog ingested rat poison placed at a nearby tennis club and had to be rushed to the animal emergency room for treatment. The club’s landscaper confirmed the presence of poison on the property. Police advised the woman it was a civil matter and advised to contact the club through email before proceeding further.
On April 2, a car service driver reported that he provided a ride from JFK airport to a woman’s South Church Lane address. She said she would send money through Zelle, but it was never received. The driver went back to the address, but the woman was not home – or did not answer. The driver wanted police to document the incident.
On April 2, a Drake Rd. homeowner and a contractor got into an argument, and the homeowner asked the contractor to leave.
A Swarthmore Rd. resident reported a dispute with a prospective rental tenant for one of her investment properties in Yonkers April 3. The dispute occurred when the resident took the property off the market and decided to continue renting to the previous tenant. The prospective tenant sent messages believing he was entitled to some sort of compensation because the property was first made available and then taken off the market. Police documented the matter.
Suspicious
A Heathcote Rd. business owner said two suspicious men came into the store separately on April 2, stayed for about five minutes and did not intend to buy anything. One was a man in his 20s with a beard and a black hoodie. The other was a man in his 30s with jeans and sneakers. The men were each asked to leave the store. Neither man committed a crime.
A black backpack was found on Penn Blvd., making a passerby nervous April 3. Police examined it. It contained empty cans. Police discarded it as trash.
Help
Police stood by while a bank technician repaired an ATM machine on Wilmot Rd. April 2.
A six-year-old girl was playing at a park on Brite Ave. when she wandered away from her grandfather. The mother called police. In the meantime, the girl was found. She had gone to a nearby friend’s house.
Mischief
Burnt paint cans and other debris were found on Heathcote Rd. school grounds April 4.
Road rage
A driver reported she was “brake checked” while driving behind a Mercedes Benz on East Parkway April 5. The passengers of the offending car also shouted at her out the windows. The incident did not escalate further.

On March 31, police called a tow for a car that needed to be jump started on Mamaroneck Rd.
Police placed loose manhole covers back in place on Popham Rd. March 31 and Cushman Rd. April 6.
Police found a 2018 Land Rover with scofflaw status for unpaid parking tickets parked in the Christie Place garage March 31. Police booted the car.
The highway department was notified about nails in the roadway on Harwood Court April 3 and a dead raccoon on Richbell Rd. April 6.
Verizon was notified about low-hanging wires that got pulled down by passing cars in the Village April 4.

Three car accidents were officially reported in the Village this week.
Village code
Police informed a solar panel solicitor, on Nelson Rd., that he needed to have a permit on file to continue soliciting in the Village March 31.
On April 4, police dispersed kids playing basketball from Potter Rd. because their presence was impeding traffic.
On April 4, police dispersed noisy kids playing basketball on Boulevard after dark.
Neighbors complained of noise from live music at a Wayside Lane party, and police informed the party coordinator April 4.
Police issued summonses to landscapers using gas-powered leaf blowers on Murray Hill Rd. April 5.
Firefighters
Firefighters assisted at a car accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway March 31.
On April 3, firefighters tightened a loose valve in a gas connection in a Rural Drive house while standing by for Con Edison following evidence of a gas leak.
