Sandro Russo Piano Recital at Scarsdale Congregational Church (Sun. 22 May, 2022 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm)

Sandro Russo Piano BW copyScarsdale Congregational Church is delighted to announce Sandro Russo's long-awaited piano recital for their SCC Concert Series, on May 22, 2022, at 5:00 pm. Sandro will be presenting the rarely-performed complete cycle of Franz Liszt's 12 Transcendental Etudes, which indeed represent one of the pinnacles of romantic piano music. This is absolutely a not to be missed event! Franz Liszt’s 12 Etudes d’Exécution Transcendante (or Transcendental Etudes) represent one of the pinnacles of romantic piano music. Published in 1852, they revolutionized the concept of the piano etude, both in their architectural scope and their many evocative programmatic titles in most cases. Liszt’s “transcendental” intent in these highly-virtuoso compositions makes each of them into a real tone poem. The performance of the complete cycle of Liszt’s 12 Transcendental Etude is an undertaking of truly epic proportions.

Tickets: $30, to be sold at the door.
