Police Report: Woman Caught Impersonating Bank Customer in Attempted Funds Withdrawal

Arrests: A Popham Road bank manager reported that a middle-aged woman was in his bank, impersonating one of his customers April 25. Police responded and arrested the woman – Lisa Campos, 56 of Eastchester. She is accused of possessing a forged passport card, false personation, criminal impersonation, identity theft and attempting to withdraw money from the victim’s bank account. Following her arrest, police also found a “crack pipe” containing drug residue in Campos’s possession. She was released on her own recognizance and ordered to appear in Village Justice Court.
On April 26, a suspect – Kimberly M. Savignano, 42, of Tuckahoe – was arrested on a bench warrant. She was charged with failing to appear in court on April 19. She was released on her own recognizance and ordered to appear in Village Justice Court.
Following a car accident on Fenimore and Post roads April 28, police arrested a driver, who initially left the scene of the accident and later turned herself in at headquarters. The arrested driver was identified as Amanda Deagan, 30, of Port Chester. She was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and operation of a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver. She was released on her own recognizance and ordered to appear in Village Justice Court.
On April 28, police arrested Juan Alexander Aragones de los Stanos, 28, of the Bronx, on charges of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, operation of a motor vehicle with improper plates, operation of a motor vehicle without insurance, operation of motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver, failure to obey a traffic control device, driving the wrong direction on a one-way street, an unregistered motor vehicle and an uninspected motor vehicle. The arrest occurred after police noticed the defendant’s black Subaru travelling north on Sage Terrace and continuing the wrong direction on a one-way street. He was released on his own recognizance and ordered to appear in Village Justice Court.
Identity theft
A Popham Road bank manager reported that a middle-aged woman was in his bank, impersonating one of his customers April 25.
A Brite Avenue man reported someone filed a fraudulent tax return in his name April 25.
On April 27, a Madison Road woman reported her credit cards were being used fraudulently.
Check theft
On April 24, a Bradford Road man reported his checks were stolen from a postal drop box, altered and attempted to be cashed.
Suspicious
A man rang a Mayflower Road doorbell and asked the homeowner if he could use the phone April 24. The homeowner thought it was suspicious and called police.
On April 24, a man was detained for matching a description of a man who had been reported to be ringing doorbells in the Village. The individual, 18 years old and from Connecticut, was transferred to Westchester County Police due to an active warrant.
On April 25, an Old Orchard Lane resident reported a man rang his doorbell, allegedly to fix a plumbing issue. Since the resident was not experiencing plumbing problems, he thought it was suspicious and called police. The man left and was unable to be located.
Harassment
A woman reported people “walked around her in the library parking lot, harassing her,” April 27. They did not speak to her, the woman said. They were gone when police arrived.
Domestic matter
A husband asked for help mediating a discussion with his intoxicated wife over food in the house April 30.
Help
A Starbuck’s employee reported a man was at the store, going through the garbage, smoking on the patio and asking customers for money April 25. The employee asked police to help remove the man. Police told the man he could not behave that way and asked him to leave.
Police advised a Scarsdale Avenue business owner about strategies to deal with a particular customer April 29.
A driver could not find her parked car in the Village April 29. Police located it on Scarsdale Avenue.
Cars and roadways
On April 26, police conducted a traffic stop on Mamaroneck Road and discovered the 31-year-old Yonkers driver’s car had an expired inspection sticker. The driver also was operating the car with a suspended license. Police issued appropriate summonses.
Police notified Verizon about low-hanging wires on Weaver Street April 28 and Rodney Road April 29.
Police removed fallen branches from Duck Pond Road and from Richbell Close April 29.
People sitting in two parked cars on Oxford Road told police they were waiters scheduled to work at a social event on the street April 29.
Police removed a fallen tree from Post Road April 29.
On April 30, police responded to a reported accident on Post Road and discovered a 38-year-old White Plains driver was driving with a suspended license. Police issued appropriate summonses, and the car was towed to a family’s member’s address, with its license plates removed.
Five car accidents were officially reported in the Village this week.
Civil matter
A Meadow Road woman reported a neighbor was sending her attorney letters regarding overhanging branches from her trees April 27. The neighbor wanted to trim the branches, and the woman agreed to it.

Police removed illegally posted signs from utility poles on Walworth Avenue and discarded them April 26.

On April 27, police issued a summons to a relator for placing a sign in the Village right of way on Nelson Road. Additional summonses were issued for signs on Aspen and Popham roads.
A roofer working on Brewster Road moved his sign onto the property and away from the Village right of way, as per Village code, April 28.
On April 28, police issued summonses to landscapers using gas-powered leaf blowers on Archer Lane.

On April 30, police closed numerous roadways in the Village because of flooding. They also cautioned drivers to not return to parked cars and attempted to move them in deeply flooded areas.
Animals
In the interest of public safety, police shot a sick raccoon that had barely moved for two days from its location on a Post Road property April 27.
Police reunited a loose dog, found at Cohawney Road and Brite Avenue, with its owner April 29.
Lost and found
A Brook Lane man reported losing his NYS attorney ID somewhere in the Village April 28.
A caller reported finding a pair of dental retainers in a parking area on East Parkway April 30.
Firefighters
On April 24, firefighters assisted at two car accidents on the Hutchinson River Parkway.
On April 25, firefighters helped a home health aide return a Woods Lane woman to a chair after she had fallen out of it.
Firefighters encountered an open excavation on Mamaroneck Road April 25.
Workers were actively working in the trench with no collapse prevention and no means of egress readily available. Firefighters ordered workers to leave the trench and explained the dangers present in the current working situation. Workers understood and covered the trench with metal plates to prevent hazards.
Firefighters communicated with the job foreman and informed an inspector for follow-up.
On April 25, firefighters assisted a car accident on Carthage Road.
On April 25, firefighters shut down a power washer at an Ogden Road house due to elevated levels of carbon monoxide.
On April 27, firefighters assisted at two car accidents on the Hutchinson River Parkway.
On April 27, police received a report of a Butler Road resident lighting fires in his backyard. They investigated the fire and found it was not compliant with code. They asked the resident to fully extinguish the fire and advised on safety precautions.
On April 29, firefighters helped passengers stuck in a Christie Place elevator. They shut power to the elevator, provided a chair for an elderly occupant of the elevator and helped removed that person and an attending therapist from the stalled cabin. They then carried the elderly person up the stairwell to the person’s residence because the elevator was placed out of service.
During and after the April 30 rainstorm, firefighters assisted residents in the Village pump water from flooded basements. They also evaluated flooding conditions on Village streets. When sewage was involved, firefighters informed the highway department for assistance.
