Police Report: Mamaroneck Road Burglar, Interrupted, Flees House At 3 a.m. and a Nanny is Evicted

Burglary: At 3 a.m., November 3, a Mamaroneck Road caller reported that an unknown party entered their residence through a first floor bathroom window. When interrupted, the burglar fled the residence.
Arrested
On Oct. 31, police arrested a 61-year-old New Rochelle driver of a car involved in a car accident on Mamaroneck Road and Griffen Avenue. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level of more than .08 of 1 one percent.
Stolen
On Oct. 29, a Penn Boulevard resident reported his electric scooter was stolen from the bike rack on East Parkway.
On Nov. 2, a resident reported his bicycle was stolen from the bike rack on East Parkway.
Scam
On Nov. 1, a Post Road resident reported harassing text in which a caller asked for money for wasting an escort’s time from an escort service. Police advised the texts were a scam to attempt to receive money.
Mischief
On Nov. 1, a Church Lane man reported youths ringing doorbells and running away. Police on scene spoke to the youths and advised them on the dangers of such activity.
Upset customer
On Nov. 3, around 1 a.m., a Scarsdale Avenue worker reported a customer was yelling at him and refusing to leave. Patrol units responded and made contact with the worker at the establishment. The employee stated he put up an "on break sign" on the front door while he was using the restroom. When the employee went to remove the sign after his break, he observed an individual at the front door banging the door and yelling at him. When the employee told the individual he was going to call the cops, the individual spit on the counter and fled the store in an unknown direction. The individual was described as a black male wearing a white hoodie and carrying a skateboard. The employee wished only to document the incident and requested no further assistance.
Help
An elderly man fell on the Bronx River bike path and started bleeding Oct. 28. Patrol called County police and EMS services.
Police helped a Cohawney Road resident dispose of a gas can containing liquid inside it Oct. 28.
After midnight, Nov. 3, police encountered a woman sitting in a car on East Parkway. She said she was sitting in her boyfriend's car talking with her boyfriend when he suddenly left his vehicle due to building frustration. She stated her boyfriend suffers from PTSD, which triggers his frustration at random times. In order to cool off, he tends to go for walks. The woman stated she did not know where her boyfriend was, but she would like assistance with a ride home. Police contacted a taxi and set up a ride back home for her.
An Aspen Rd. resident fell asleep on a moped at a traffic intersection at 1:45 a.m., Nov. 3.
On Nov. 3, a Black Hawk Road nanny reported she has been living at her employer’s house location for three months as a live-in nanny. She said while she was out for the evening yesterday, her employer severed ties and asked to mail her her belongings. She requested an escort to retrieve her items. Patrol assisted her with removing her belongings without incident.
Suspicious
A caller reported a man in a white hooded sweatshirt and a mask standing in the woods between Quaker Ridge Golf Club and Griffin Avenue Oct. 28. Police spoke with the caddy master who said the man did not work for the club.
At 1 a.m., Oct. 29, a Rectory Lane girl though she heard someone dragging a trash can outside. She looked outside and thought she saw a figure at the end of her driveway. Police investigated and found neither a person outside the house nor any trashcans out of place.
Police advised a man who was walking down the middle of Weaver Street and Griffen Avenue that it was dangerous Oct. 29. He was told to walk on the sidewalk.
On Oct. 31, bank employees on East Parkway thought they saw a man inside their bank that matched the description of an individual accused of robbing an ATM.
Cars and roadways
On Oct. 29, police notified Con Edison about a fallen wire on Murray Hill Rd.
On Oct. 31, a tree fell at Crane and Chase roads. Police assisted with traffic control until Con Edison arrived.
A driver hit a deer on the Bronx River Parkway Oct. 30. Firefighters and police assisted on scene.
A driver hit a deer on Post Rd. Nov. 1. Firefighters and police assisted on scene.
Three car accidents were officially reported in the Village this week.
Animals
Police removed an injured squirrel from Franklin Road Nov. 3.
Police shot an injured raccoon on Morris Lane Nov. 3.
Village code
On Oct. 31, police advised a Bell Rd. resident to reduce the volume of noise coming from a party on his property.
Police dispersed noisy kids from a party on Harvest Dr. Nov. 2.
Police removed illegally posted signs from Crane Rd. and Sycamore Rd. and discarded them Nov. 2.
On Nov. 2, police advised Crane Rd. and Heathcote Rd. residents to reduce the volume of noise coming from parties on their property.
Police dispersed large groups of noisy kids from a Scarsdale Ave. store and from Chase Rd. Nov. 2.
Lost and found
On Oct. 28, a passerby found a White Plains hospital ID card. The hospital asked police to destroy the card since it had already been replaced.
Police returned a found cell phone to its owner on Brite Avenue Nov. 1.
A passerby brought a found wallet to headquarters Nov. 2.
A Catherine Rd. resident reported losing a license plate in the Village Nov. 2.
Firefighters
On Oct. 28, firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a Brewster Rd. gas leak.
Firefighters assisted at Mamaroneck Rd. car accident Oct. 31.
On Nov. 2, firefighters extinguished a small brush fire on Heathcote School grounds.
Firefighters assisted at Post Rd. car accident Nov. 3.
Two women got stuck in an elevator on Depot Place Nov. 3. Firefighters opened the elevator to release them unharmed.
