On March 3, firefighters responded to a Hampton Road carbon monoxide alarm, where the residents confirmed that all occupants, including pets, had already vacated the premises. The residents mentioned that the boiler in the home had been non-functional and had been repaired the day before using temporary parts. A permanent repair was scheduled to be performed by the plumber the following day. Firefighters entered the structure and detected carbon monoxide levels of 100 parts per million (PPM) on the first floor. Firefighters donned protective equipment and investigated the source of the carbon monoxide in the basement. There, levels exceeding 120 PPM were found in the utility room, where the gas-fired boiler was located. The boiler was promptly shut down. Additional readings within the home revealed levels of 50 PPM on the second floor and 40 PPM in the attic. Con Edison Gas was notified and dispatched to the scene. Meanwhile, firefighters initiated positive pressure ventilation to remove the carbon monoxide from the structure. After initial ventilation efforts, they confirmed that the levels were gradually decreasing. Upon arrival, Con Edison personnel evaluated the gas-fired appliances and determined that the boiler was the source of the carbon monoxide leak. A Con Edison representative red-tagged the boiler to prevent its use. Firefighters continued ventilation efforts until carbon monoxide levels returned to zero throughout the home. The findings were communicated to the residents, who were instructed to keep the boiler off until the plumber completed the necessary repairs.

On March 6, firefighters investigated a burning odor in a Ferncliff Rd. house. After investigation, it was determined to be a bag of fertilizer in the area. However, during the investigation, personnel found one circuit breaker tripped and notified the owner to have an electrician check the circuit. The tripped circuit was not the source of the odor.

On March 7, firefighters assisted with a car accident on Scarsdale Ave.

On March 7, firefighters were dispatched to a small rubbish fire at Supply Field on Heathcote Rd. The fire was partially extinguished upon arrival. Firefighters used a pressurized water can to completely extinguish it. The consumable material consisted of cardboard boxes, paper and aerosol products.
