Police Report Resident Harassed by False Allegations and Another Pedestrian Hit

snowstoplightHarassment:On Feb. 18, a Cohawney Rd. resident reported that he was being harassed by an unknown person who was spreading false information. The unknown person was sending messages via Snapchat to the resident’s girlfriend and to the resident’s employer, alleging that the resident was running a sexually explicit X account.

Concern

An East Parkway business manager called police to report a woman had been hanging out inside the establishment for some time, and the manager thought she might be impaired by drugs Feb. 20. Police interviewed the woman, a known drug user from another jurisdiction. She did not show any signs of impairment on that day and was allowed to stay inside the establishment.

Homeless

A homeless woman was discovered inside an ATM vestibule on East Parkway Feb. 21. She told police she was waiting for money to be transferred into her account. Police told her she could not stay in the vestibule. She left and boarded a train.

Help

Police assisted a Sage Terrace woman confirm that she had home health aide services booked on Feb. 18.

Police mediated a conversation between a Brite Ave. homeowner and a nanny who was being terminated Feb. 22. Police stood by while the nanny collected her belongings and left.

Pedestrian hit

A car struck a pedestrian at Christie Place and Chase Rd. Feb. 19. No injuries were reported.

Cars and roadways

On Feb. 21, police informed the highway department about a pothole on Fenimore Rd.

On Feb. 22, a tree fell on Post Rd. Police removed branches from the roadway.

Police and Con Edison removed branches and fallen wires from Clarence Rd. Feb. 22.

One car accident was officially reported in the Village this week.

Lost and found

On Feb. 19, a Weaver St. resident reported losing a license plate and EZ-pass.

On Feb. 21, a passerby found a license plate on Saxon Woods Rd.

Village code

On Feb. 21, a caller complained about music from an East Parkway establishment. Police heard dinner music at the location and informed the manager.

Firefighters
On Feb. 16, firefighters assisted at a car accident on Weaver St.

A broken pipe was discovered in a Fox Meadow Rd. detached garage Feb. 17. Firefighters attempted to enter the garage but were unable to do so. The homeowner was informed.

On Feb. 17, firefighters traced a gas-like odor on Jefferson Rd. to a deceased skunk.

On Feb. 17, firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a fallen wire on Donellan Rd.

On Feb. 18, Bell Rd. heating equipment was improperly venting and causing a carbon monoxide situation. Firefighters shut it off at the request of Con Edison.

On Feb. 20, firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a chirping alarm in a Boulevard house Feb. 20.

On Feb. 21, firefighters and Con Edison shut down at malfunctioning boiler in a Farley Rd. house.

On Feb. 21, a car became engulfed in flames on Ogden Rd. after the driver experienced a smoking engine on the Bronx River Parkway. Firefighters extinguished the fire and overhauled the car.

On Feb. 21, firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a failed gas regulator at a Secor Rd. house.
