Missing Jewelry
On April 27, a Black Birch Lane resident reported that jewelry was missing from his house. He said that in October of 2025, he retrieved jewelry from his safety deposit box at Chase bank because the bank discontinued that service. He put the jewelry in a desk drawer at home and planned to show it to a family member in two weeks. However, when he opened the drawer, he discovered that the jewelry was missing. He searched the house for the jewelry, but it is still missing.
Burglary
On April 28, a Brewster Rd. resident reported a burglary that occurred around April 9. At least three items were reported stolen.
Stolen
On April 28, a Palmer Ave. school official reported that an e-scooter belonging to a Spier Rd. resident was stolen from school property the previous day.
Branches and Wires
On April 28, a Spier Rd. caller was concerned that branches and yard waste was deposited outside his property without his permission. He specifically pointed out one bag of yard organics and one bundle of small diameter branches which had been placed at the edge of his property near the curb. He stated he had not placed them there and that he had spoken with his neighbors who stated neither they nor their landscapers had placed them there. Police advised the caller that the manner in which the items had been placed was in compliance with Village code, so the items would be collected by sanitation. A truck belonging to a tree removal company was parked on the road nearby. The caller was concerned that this company may have placed the items and planned to leave more. Police spoke with the employees working a few houses away. They stated they would not be leaving any items for pickup and would be chipping and disposing of all cut branches.
On April 28, Con Edison and highway workers were notified about a large branch hanging over primary wires on Butler Rd.
A wire fell onto a parked car on Dobbs Terrace April 28. It was a fiber optic line. Police notified Verizon and removed the wire from the car.
Lights
On April 28, a Brewster Rd. crossing guard reported a parent "who purposely activates his bright lights in her direction." Patrol spoke to the parent who stated that he does not use his high beams and leaves the headlights on for safety. Patrol advised him, in the future when he parks his vehicle at the intersection, to switch to daytime running lights to mitigate any future issues.
Teens
On April 28, a caller from Greenacres School advised that four males in black hoodies, approximately in their early teens, were riding motorized bikes around school property. The caller thought they appeared to be looking to make entry and, when approached, they road off.
Harassment
On April 30, a Foxhall Rd. program coordinator reported an incident of past harassment. She stated that on April 14, a resident alleged a staff member pulled her hair and ear. The program coordinator stated the incident required a police report and that it is under investigation. The Justice Center was notified.
Landscaping Stakes
On May 2, a Burgess Rd. resident reported that yard stakes were moved on his property. He thought his neighbor moved the stakes. The neighbor denied moving the stakes. The neighbor denied moving the stakes but said he would ask his landscapers if they moved them.
Burlap Bags
On May 3, resident reported that someone has been leaving burlap bags with landscaping debris at the end of her driveway on Saxon Woods Rd. for some time. Police asked the sanitation department to remove the bags.
Help
A person with a storage locker in Christie Place garage complained that office supplies were blocking access to the lockers April 27. Police went to the location and saw some office supplies, belonging to the police department, off to the side of the lockers in the garage. The lockers were easily accessible. The person who made the complaint was advised.
Police conducted a welfare check of residents at a Lockwood Rd. house due to concerns voiced by postal workers May 2.
Cars and Roadways
On April 28, police conducted a traffic stop on Montrose Rd. and issued the driver -- a 36-year-old Scarsdale woman -- a summons for driving with a suspended registration.
Police cleared debris from Post Rd. April 30.
On April 30, a caller reported a canister labelled "corrosive material" on Post Rd. Patrol responded and observed a blue canister on the roadway. The canister appeared to contain industrial-sized bleach liquid intended for pool service. Patrol appropriately disposed of the bleach at the sanitation facility.
Police moved a branch off Post Rd. May 2.
A garbage truck knocked over a street sign on Overhill Rd. May 2. The highway department was informed.
One car accident was officially reported in the Village this week.
Lost and Found
On April 27, a resident came to headquarters to report that one of his license plates was missing.
On May 2, a black pouch containing no items of value was found on the steps of a Mamaroneck Rd. school. Police left it there in case the owner, possibly a youth, showed up to retrieve it.
On May 3, an empty airpod case was found in the Village and brought to headquarters.
Village Code
A construction crew on Carthage Rd. was told to clean up because they were at work past allowed working hours April 27.
Police removed and discarded illegally posted signs on Post Rd. April 28, Sage Terrace and Boulevard April 30, Saxon Woods Rd. May 2, and Brita Ave. May 3. Summonses were issued as appropriate.
Police intervened in a dispute between kids improperly using e-bikes on a Post Rd. soccer field and a man who was upset that the kids were riding bikes on the field May 1. The kids understood that they were not allowed to ride bikes on the field.
Police dispersed party guests from a Brite Ave. house after neighbors complained of noise May 2.
On May 3, construction work was happening on Burgess Rd. in violation of Village code. Police issued multiple summonses for the violation.
Firefighters
On April 28, firefighters assisted an elderly Crossway woman who fell in her home.
On April 28, firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a gas leak on Berwick Rd.
On April 28, at Greenacres Ave. and Colvin Rd., a BMW drove onto an island in the roadway and drove over a large rock. The vehicle was high and centered on the rock, leaking transmission fluid. The occupants self-extricated from the SUV prior to firefighters' arrival. Firefighters applied absorbent onto spilled oils and stood by for a tow to remove the vehicle. Highway workers responded with a backhoe to move the large boulder from the road back onto the island.
On April 30, firefighters assisted with a car accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway.
On May 1, a Garth Rd. building was flooding due to water from an upstairs shower in one of the apartments in the building. Firefighters turned off the water. The building department was notified.
On May 3, firefighters assisted with a car accident in a Griffen Ave. parking lot.
