Police Report: Burglary on Deerfield Lane and Kids Board Wrong Bus

Burglary: On July 10, a Deerfield Lane resident observed, via video surveillance, two masked individuals inside his house. The burglar alarm was also sounding. Police went to the scene and determined the house had been burglarized. Patrol set up a perimeter and made entry into the location. They made sure no one was inside the house.
Scam
On July 7, a Fenimore Rd. man reported being scammed out of money. He said he attempted to sell his e-bike on Next Door for $200. He stated a party was interested and sent a check for $2,100 for payment of the bike and alleged movers. The check appeared to have cleared on July 1, at which time he sent the party a money order for $1,800 for the movers. On July 3, the bank stated the check was fraudulent. The man requested a report for documentation purposes.
Tampering
On July 10, an ATM at a Scarsdale Ave. location appeared to have been tampered with. Police recommended that the business manager take the ATM out of service and call a technician to service it.
Domestic dispute
On July 7, a Larch Lane man reported arguing with his brother. Police de-escalated the situation, and the brothers agreed to stay away from each other and give each other space.
Harassment
On July 8, a Nelson Rd. man reported being harassed by someone with whom he got into a car accident in Chile earlier this year. The person was using WhatsApp to send unwanted messages, which were becoming more threatening and which were also coming from a different phone number. Police advised him to ignore the messages.
Disorderly conduct
Police stood by for MTA police at the Scarsdale train station after complaints were received about a white woman with brown hair and a pink backpack yelling at people in an agitated way July 9.
Help
On July 10, police helped an Ogden Rd. resident removed a stuck key from a door lock without causing any damage.
Fear
On July 12, a Depot Place liquor store sold a high-end bottle of alcohol to a person who presented a driver’s license and credit card. Although the transaction went through, the manager of the store was afraid that the purchase might be fraudulent because she had a similar fraudulent incident involving a person with a similar address.
Wrong bus
On July 11, a Brittany Close woman reported that her children got on the wrong bus, and she didn’t know where the bus was going. Later, she called back and said she had gathered more information about the bus and its destination.
Uninvited guests
Uninvited guests arrived at a Harvest Drive graduation party July 10. Police helped the host disperse the party crashers.
Damaged window
On July 13, a Brite Ave. resident reported his son’s window was shattered, yet still intact in the window frame. The son stated he heard a loud bang in the middle of the night, at which time he looked outside and observed a sedan exiting his driveway at a high rate of speed. He said he was not sure if the window was shattered. Patrol did not find any objects outside the residence that may have caused damage. Patrol observed the window was double-sided, and the interior window was not damaged.
Cars and roadways
On July 7, a parkway entrance sign fell into Mamaroneck Rd. Police notified the local department of transportation in order to repair it.
Police notified Verizon about a fallen wire on Haverford Rd. July 7.
A nanny parked her employer’s car near Brewster Rd. and could not find it when she was looking to leave July 8. Police canvassed the area and found the car.
The local department of transportation was notified about flashing traffic signals at Palmer Ave. and Wynmor Rd. and Secor Rd. and Bypass July 9.
On July 9, police notified Con Edison about a utility pole with live wires that fell over on Fairview Rd.
On July 12, a street sign at Palmer Ave. and Foxhall Rd. fell over. Police notified the highway department for replacement.
Village code
Police removed illegally posted signs from Post and Murray Hill roads July 9, and Weaver St. and Stratton Rd. July 11. Summonses were issued as appropriate.
On July 11, police informed party hosts in the area of Brewster and Olmsted roads that neighbors had complained about noise from the party.

On July 13, police advised noisy youth, who were playing basketball on Boulevard, that neighbors complained of noise.
Animals
A coyote ran from a Richbell Rd. porch when the resident pulled in the driveway July 8.
On July 11, a neighborhood dog ran into a highway department vehicle on Greendale Rd. and Windmill Lane. The dog was not injured, and the vehicle was not damaged.
Lost and found
On July 7, a fanny pack was found on East Parkway. Police reunited it with its owner, who came to headquarters to report losing it.
A wallet was found on Palmer Ave. July 8.
On July 12, a black bi-fold wallet was found on Fox Meadow Rd. It contained multiple Metro cards.
Firefighters
On July 8, firefighters retrieved a woman’s cell phone after it fell through a storm drain cover on Christie Place.
On July 8, firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a gas leak on Spier Rd. Firefighters evacuated residents at the site of the suspected gas leak. Gas was leaking from a stove, where a knob had not been properly shut down. Firefighters assisted with ventilation.
Lightning struck a tree on Farragut Rd. July 8. Splintered fragments of the tree were on the ground. The house breaker was tripped, and a burning odor was detected in the basement. Firefighters recommended calling a tree surgeon and an electrician.
Three occupants got stuck in a Post Rd. elevator July 9. Firefighters unlocked the elevator and got the occupants out. On July 11, firefighters assisted with a car accident on Weaver St.

Police Report: Woman Arrested for Removing Car Boot – and a Lost Necklace, Lost Kids, and a Running Sink

Arrested: On June 30, police arrested a 33-year-old Wappingers Falls woman on charges of third-degree criminal tampering and obstruction of governmental administration for an alleged crime that occurred in the Christie Place garage June 26. The woman, who works at a business on Boniface Circle, removed a boot from her vehicle's tire, which was placed on their tire by our contracted tow company. The vehicle was a scofflaw and had multiple unpaid parking tickets. The vehicle was observed the next day parked in Scarsdale business district and was impounded. When the owner came to SPD headquarters to retrieve the vehicle, she was arrested and released on her own reconiznace and instructed to respond to Scarsdale Village Court to address the unpaid parking fines. Her car was impounded by police.
Refund
A Popham Rd. man wanted to document a civil matter he was having with a school June 30. The man said he enrolled his daughter in a school and paid a deposit. He then changed his mind and enrolled his daughter in a different school. The school indicated that a refund check was in the mail. However, the man has not yet received the check, and he wanted to document the matter.
Tree
A Webster Rd. man said someone cut his tree branches without permission June 30. A neighbor said her landscaper only takes care of her grass and does not trim hedges or trees. She said her landscaper would have had no reason to reach through the hedges and trim branches from the man’s tree. The man’s own landscapers were at this house on the day that the branches were cut, but they denied trimming the tree. The man said he would review surveillance footage for further clues.
Crack
Police observed a crack in the front door of a Chase Rd. business July 4. The manager was informed, and they are following up with surveillance footage.
Sink
On July 5, a School Lane man returned home from vacation and believed someone might have been inside his house because he found a bathroom sink running. Police checked the house and found no signs of forced entry or criminality. Instead, police deduced that the sink had turned on when a mirror fell from the wall.
Safety
A girl was sitting on curbing at Mamaroneck and Garden roads waiting for an Uber after dark July 4. Police advised her to wait on a grass area away from traffic for safety.
Kids were skateboarding on stairs of a Post Rd. building July 5. Police advised them to stop due to safety risks.
Help
On July 2, police assisted Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps transport a patient from Ramsey Rd. to White Plains Hospital Center.
Firearms
On July 3, a Garnersville, NY, man came to headquarters to surrender two firearms for safekeeping.
Kids
On July 4, a four-year-old child was found at Nelson Rd. and Boulevard, appearing to be lost at 12:28 p.m. A passerby from Lyons Rd. called police. Police were able to reunite the child with his parents.
A Greenacres Ave. man called police and said he lost his two children on the Bronx River Parkway bike path July 6. Soon thereafter, it was determined that the children made their way back home and were safely with a neighbor at the neighbor’s house. They were then safely reunited with their parents.
Cars and roadways
Police issued an overtime parking citation to the owner of a car parked all day on Fox Meadow Rd. June 30.
A Carthage Rd. woman reported her car’s license plates were lost in a fire July 1.
A broken irrigation system caused flooding on Lebanon Rd. July 1.
Police directed traffic around a disabled car at Griffen Ave. and Weaver St. July 1.
Highway department workers removed a fallen branch from Birchall Dr. July 1.
A driver of a car with scofflaw status due to unpaid parking tickets said she would settle her balance with the court, after police found her car parked on Christie Place July 2.
Patrol removed a fallen branch from Heathcote Rd. July 3.
Police advised an idling construction truck to turn off its engine July 5.
One car accident was officially reported in the Village this week.
Lost and found
An East Parkway man reported losing his Montenegro passport somewhere in the Village June 30. He reiterated the report on July 4 to properly fill out paperwork for a replacement request.
On June 31, a Lincoln Rd. woman lost a platinum and diamond necklace at the Scarsdale pool. She said she took off the necklace and put it in her beach bag, but when she emptied the bag, the necklace was no longer there. Police searched the area where the woman had been sitting for the necklace – to no avail. Staff said they would look for it on the grounds, as well as search the pool filtration system for the necklace.
A Broadmoor Rd. resident reported losing one of his license plates July 1.
A branch fell on Sage Terrace and severed a communications wire July 4. Police informed the highway department for removal and repair.
Village code
Police removed illegally posted signs from Tisdale Rd. July 2, Palmer Ave. and Post Rd. July 4, and Murray Hill Rd. and Mamaroneck Rd. July 6. Summonses were issued as appropriate.
On July 2, police advised a Burgess Rd. solicitor that he needed a permit to solicit in the Village.
On July 4, police found evidence of people shooting off illegal fireworks on Huntington Ave. The people fled when police approached. Firefighters extinguished burning carboard boxes.

Firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of burning wires inside a garage at an Ogden Rd. structure July 2. Contractors on the scene used a fire extinguisher to address the matter before firefighters arrived. A stop work order was issued because proper permits were not in place.
On July 4, firefighters shut a valve to a leaking propane tank at a Nelson Rd. barbecue. They advised replacing the unit.
A Madison Rd. resident was advised to replace knobs on a gas cooktop July 4.

Brooklyn Man Arrested For Trying to Pass Counterfeit Money and Woman Sickened by Bad Cherries

Arrest: On June 25, police arrested a 38-year-old Brooklyn man on charges of first-degree possession of a forged instrument after the man attempted to pass counterfeit $100 bills at the 7 Eleven store on Scarsdale Ave.
Stolen car
During the overnight period of June 26 – 27, a 2024 BMW X7 was stolen from Dunham Rd.
Vandalism
On June 23, an Overhill Rd. resident reported vandals pulled her garden fence out of the dirt and tossed it onto her lawn. Plants were also found to have been stepped on.
Identity theft
An Overhill Rd. resident reported, on June 26, that someone fraudulently opened an account in her name and took out a business loan for $11,800.
Package
A River Rd. resident reported receiving an Amazon package filled with unwanted merchandise that she did not order June 27. It included baby clothes, mints, cereal. Patrol picked up the box and disposed of the contents.
Boy
On June 23, a Rochambeau Rd. resident reported that a young boy rang her doorbell and entered her house. She was not home when the incident occurred. Police went to the house and spoke with a woman who works for the family. That woman brought her son to work with her that day. All was in good order.
Suspicious
At 2:16 a.m., June 29, a Valley Rd. heard noises in his house and believed someone might be inside. Investigation found a rear office door opened and two faucets running. There were no signs of forced entry and no evidence of someone in the house.
A large bread knife was found on a Taunton Rd. lawn June 29. There were no signs of criminality. Police discarded the knife.
Death
A 95-year-old man died at home on Saxon Woods Rd. June 28.
Dispute
A Benedict Rd. man reported an argument with a neighbor who allegedly did not stop at a stop sign June 23.
Harassment
A Wildwood Rd. man reported a woman has been harassing him with unwanted communication, as well as by showing up outside his sports club. Police advised the woman that the man did not want any further communication from her.
Help
On June 26, a Brite Ave. woman reported that a family member, who resides in Illinois and who has mental illness, was sending illogical and confusing messages. The woman was concerned for the family member’s wellbeing.
Police stood by while a man retrieved his personal belongings from a Wildwood Rd. address June 26.
Police performed two welfare checks of elderly parents who reside in the Village, when their kids were unable to reach them this week.
On June 29, a Boulevard man reported receiving unwanted communication from his estranged mother regarding a legal matter.
Cherries
On June 25, a Crossway man reported that he purchased fruit that possibly had a pesticide that made his wife ill. He arrived at police headquarters to meet two food inspectors from the NYS Agriculture and Markets to hand over possible evidence. He said that on June 14, his wife bought cherries from a local vendor. His wife allegedly ate one cherry and immediately felt ill. On June 15, his wife became further ill and went to seek medical attention. Upon receiving multiple medical tests, doctors told the man’s wife that it possible that something was ingested causing her to become ill. The man stated the only thing that he could think of that would have made his wife ill were the cherries that she ate. He notified Agriculture and Markets who responded to police HQ to take possession of the cherries. Agriculture and Markets stated that they will be testing the cherries and wished to document the incident with police.

Police taped up fallen wires and notified Verizon regarding incidents on Saxon Woods Rd. June 23 and Rodney Rd. June 27.
On June 23, an elderly driver was driving erratically and possibly on the wrong side of the road near Popham and Garth roads. Police convinced her to park the car in the high school lot and take a taxi home.
On June 24, police issued summonses to a 21-year-old Scarsdale woman after she was found to be driving without a license and driving while using a portable electronic device. Police conducted a traffic stop at East Parkway and Christie Place after the woman was observed to be driving with her cell phone in both hands. Her license was found to be expired and suspended. A valid license holder responded to the scene and drove the woman away in her car.
Police helped a driver find her car parked at the high school lot June 24.
Police permitted a driver to leave her overheating car parked on Dobbs Terrace overnight to cool down June 24.
On June 24, a caller reported her foot had been run over by a car in a Mamaroneck Rd. lot.
On June 25, police issued a summons form aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle to a 64-year-old woman from New Rochelle. She was involved in a car accident on Palmer Ave. and when police responded, they realized her license-related misdemeanor.
On June 25, police notified the highway department about a dead deer on Brewster Rd. and a fallen branch on Post Rd.
On June 26, police encountered a car parked in the Christie Place garage with scofflaw status. Police booted the 2018 Kia, registered to a 64-year-old Peekskill man.
On June 26, while patrolling the Christie Place garage, police discovered that a boot placed on the car of a 33-year-old Carmel, NY, woman had been unlawfully removed. The suspect faces charges of third-degree criminal tampering and obstructing governmental administration.
A tree fell on a parked car on Wayside Lane, also taking down wires. June 26. No injuries were reported. Con Edison was notified.
Police removed a brick from Mamaroneck Rd. and disposed of it. June 27.
On June 27, a Carthage Rd. man experienced a flat tire and wanted police to check for any possible sharp debris on Lincoln Rd related to a construction project. No nails were found in the roadway.
On June 27, police issued a 41-year-old Bronx driver four summonses – for failure to stop at a stop sign, operating a motor vehicle with improper plates, an unregistered motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. The driver was operating a Toyota with a Texas plate. The plate was seized by police and towed to the driver’s residence.
On June 27, police towed a 2018 Kia, with scofflaw status for unpaid parking tickets, from Boniface Circle, to the police impound lot.

Police Report: Stonehouse Road Woman Arrested on DWI Charges

DWI: On June 18, police arrested a 66-year-old Stonehouse Rd. woman on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense) and aggravated Dwi with a blood alcohol level of at least .18 or more, with no priors. The defendant’s 2024 Cadillac was involved in a car accident on Church Lane. Two witnesses suspected that the driver – the woman – was under the influence of alcohol. The witnesses called police. Police interviewed the woman and determined that she had a blood alcohol level above the legal limit. She was arrested and transported to Village Justice Curt for processing. She was released on her own recognizance and ordered to appear again in Village Justice Court on July 9.
Stolen handbag
On June 17, a Garden Rd. woman reported that her handbag and its contents had been stolen from inside her home. Stolen property was valued at more than $1,000, making the incident a felony. Police are investigating.
Criminal mischief
A Catherine Rd. house was egged June 17 and June 21.
Identity theft
On June 22, a Mamaroneck Rd. resident advised that someone fraudulently opened an account in her name.
Help
A Wildwood Rd. resident reported receiving unwanted texts from another person June 18. The person was advised to cease contact,
On June 18, police performed a welfare check of a Walworth Ave. resident.
On June 18, a Valley Rd. resident wanted to document numerous incidents involving a person with whom the resident was trying to break contact. The resident wished to report that the listed party, known to her through religious studies, has continued to make unwanted contact with her since May 29. The resident stated she attempted politely telling the person that she did not wish to see or date him. The resident stated this person did not accept this and continued to insist otherwise. The resident stated she advised that she no longer wished to converse and blocked this individual. The resident presented images of numerous attempts by this party to make contact through various applications and social media. The resident stated she made their shared religious leader aware of this behavior and that the person was spoken to on the previous day. The resident stated the religious leader advised that she was concerned about the listed party's "affect" during this conversation, although no statement or threat was reported.

On June 17, police removed an illegally posted sign from Carman and Webster roads. They issued a summons to the Port Chester company that was advertising on the sign.
On June 21, police removed an illegally posted sign from Hampton Rd. They issued a summons to the Mamaroneck business that was advertising on the sign.
On June 23, police removed an illegally posted sign from Heathcote Rd. They issued a summons to the Connecticut business that was advertising on the sign.
Cars and roadways
On June 17, police removed a cable wire from Cooper Rd. and notified Verizon.
Police notified the highway department about a dead animal in the roadway on Meadow Rd. June 17.
A road sign was struck, and the sign fell over on Weaver St. June 18.
A branch fell on a car in the Village June 20.

Death
On June 18, a Lyons Rd. woman died at home despite attempted life-saving measures enacted by Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps. She was 88 years old.
Dogs
On June 18, a Colvin Rd. resident reported being bitten by a dog at Brewster and Farley roads. The injury was minor and did not break the skin. She refused any medical attention. Police completed an animal bite form and notified the Westchester County department of health.
On June 19, police reunited a loose Chihuahua with its owner after the dog was recovered from Mamaroneck and Foxhall roads. The owner was issued a summons for having a dog at large.
Village code
On June 17, police told a solicitor that a permit was required to solicit in the Village.
On June 18, police attempted to tell a Sycamore Rd. resident that neighbors were complaining about noise from the resident’s generator.
On June 18, police dispersed kids from a Hutchinson Ave. basketball game after dark and after neighbors complained about noise.
On June 19, a River Rd. resident complained that a neighbor’s trash bags were “always on her property.”
Police dispersed youths from Boulevard after dark on June 21, due to a noise complaint by a neighbor.
Police advised Butler Rd. residents about a noise complaint June 22.
On June 22, witnesses reported that a group of youths were setting off fireworks on Boulevard and fled the area before police arrived.
Lost and found
On June 18, police found a wallet on Scarsdale Ave. and vouchered it for safekeeping.
Firefighters
On June 17, firefighters were dispatched to a Richbell Rd. house for a reported electrical fire originating in an outlet. The resident reported that they were operating a vacuum when the outlet started smoking and ignited, damaging the vacuum cord and outlet. Firefighters verified that there was no fire extension, and they isolated the power to that circuit. Firefighters removed the damaged equipment and advised the resident to have a licensed electrician evaluate the circuit and repair the equipment. Firefighters were able to restore power to the circuit while isolating the receptacle.

On June 19, firefighters were called to Aspen Rd. because a grocery delivery truck’s front brakes overheated and started smoking. The driver realized the situation at a delivery stop and discharged an ABC extinguisher on it. Firefighters assisted until the fire was completely out. They stood by while the driver made contact for a tow,

Woman Falls 12 Feet After Steps Collapse, Garbage Truck on Fire and Loud Parties

Photo Credit: Shelley GrafsteinDangerous fall: On June 11, an outside staircase connecting Popham and Overhill roads buildings gave way, and a woman fell through to the ground and got injured. Specifically, the outside staircase grate decking had opened up and woman fell down one floor level, approximately 12 feet.
The staircase connected the parking lot of a Popham Rd. building to an Overhill Rd. garage. The injured woman was taken to the hospital for treatment. Firefighters secured the area with caution tape and cones. The building department was notified of the condition.
Stolen
A scooter was reported to have been stolen from an East Parkway traffic island June 10. The owner did not want to file a formal report.
Identity Theft and Fraud
A Brite Ave. resident reported a wire fraud transaction that caused the resident a financial loss June 10.
On June 12, a Brewster Rd. resident reported being scammed into revealing personal information to a possible hacker. The resident reported that he purchased a new computer about a month ago and since that time he was contacted by an unknown party claiming to be a Microsoft employee. This unknown party claimed that the computer had been compromised and alleged that the resident’s identifying information and financial accounts were at risk. Ther resident then shared identifying information and gave electronic access to his computer to the unknown party. So far, there was no suspicious or fraudulent activity on any financial account.
Check washing
On June 13, a White Rd. woman reported that she mailed a check from a public mailbox in the Village on May 20. It was then stolen, altered and fraudulently cashed.
Intoxicated man?
On June 14, a caller reported a male, possibly intoxicated, laying on a lawn on Rock Creek Lane. It was 7:45 p.m. He was described as a male white wearing a white T shirt and blue jeans. Police spoke with the man, who advised that he was waiting to be picked up. Patrol remained on scene until his ride arrived. No further police action was required.
Lights
On June 11, a Boulevard woman reported seeing flashing lights outside her house. She also said that her dog has been barking for 15 minutes. She said she couldn’t see what was going on, and she would like an officer to drive by and see what was happening. Patrol arrived at the location and was met by the caller’s grandson. He advised that he returned to the house, with friends, and his grandmother was startled.
Where are the kids?
A Brite Ave. woman reported that her daughter and a friend left the house for a party on Fox Meadow Rd. and she was worried because she could not reach them June 14. Police went to the woman’s house and spoke with a babysitter. The sitter was unaware that the girls had left, and she did not know about the party. Police went to the location of the party and found that the two girls were safe.
Broken window
A Village-owned vehicle’s windows were found to be broken on Heathcote Rd. June 11. The incident apparently occurred overnight.
Death
A hospice patient died at the patient’s Saxon Woods Rd. residence June 16.
Cars and roadways
A Kia passed a red light on Chase Rd. June 9. Police issued the driver multiple summonses, including summonses for improper license plates, no insurance and an unregistered vehicle.
Workers on Barker Lane were told to move their cars to facilitate traffic flow June 9.
Police called a tow for disabled cars on Fox Meadow Rd. and Heathcote Rd. June 12.
Sanitation workers removed a mattress and a refrigerator that fell off of a truck and landed on Edgewood Rd. June 12.
Verizon was called about an exposed communications panel on Post Rd. June 12.
On June 13, a “smashed mousetrap with poison on it” was reported on Cooper Rd. A caller was afraid an animal might eat it and get sick. Police called sanitation workers to remove it.
A work truck was blocking a Crawford Lane driveway June 13. Police asked the driver to move it.
Police called a tow for a disabled car on Post Rd. June 15.
A Yonkers driver failed to stop at a stop sign on Nelson Rd. and Boulevard June 15. Police issued summonses, including a summons for an unlicensed driver.
Trash
Police picked up a plastic knife from the sidewalk on Palmer Ave. June 9. They discarded it as trash.
A woman was reported to be picking up recycling on Southwoods Lane June 10. She explained that she had the homeowners’ permission to do so.
Dogs
A dog was found crying on Shawnee Rd. June 9. It appeared to be lost. Police reunited it with its owner.
An unleashed dog was found at Palmer Ave. and Lincoln Rd. June 15. Police took it back to headquarters.
Lost and found
A passerby found an iPhone on the train and gave it to police, who then found the owner and facilitated the return of the phone June 9.
A Nelson Rd. man reported losing his wallet containing his German ID, credit cards and driver’s license. June 13.
Village code
Kids playing basketball on Dolma Rd. were disturbing neighbors with the noise June 9. Police advised the kids, and they stopped making noise.
On June 10, police discarded an illegally-posted sign on Madison Rd.
Many solicitors were reported to be active in the Village June 10. Police advised them on solicitation laws.
On June 11 police discarded illegally-posted signs on Fenimore Rd. and Boulevard.
Neighbors complained about loud music coming from a Dolma Rd. house June 12. Police advised the resident, and the music was lowered.
Kids were playing basketball at a Boulevard court at 3 a.m., June 13. Police advised them that the park was closed after dark.
Police thrice asked a Secor Rd. party host to lower the volume of music because it was disturbing neighbors June 13.
Police asked a Bradford Rd. pizza party host to lower the volume of music because it was disturbing neighbors June 13.
Police twice asked a Drake Rd. resident to lower the volume of music because it was disturbing neighbors June 13.
Police thrice asked a Meadow Rd. resident to lower the volume of music because it was disturbing neighbors June 14.
Police thrice asked a Heathcote Rd. party host to lower the volume of music because it was disturbing neighbors June 14.
Firefighters
On June 9, a Walworth Avenue person was locked inside a bedroom. Firefighters gained entry to the bedroom without incurring damage to the property. The person did not require medical attention.
Car keys got locked inside a trunk on Nelson Rd. June 10. Firefighters gained access and returned the keys to the owner.
On June 10, an ice cream truck briefly caught fire at Popham and Garth roads, The fire was extinguished before firefighters arrived. Firefighters checked the safety of the truck. It was towed from the intersection.
On June 11, a caller reported smelling smoke and seeing smoke coming from a Post Rd. roof. Firefighters went to the scene and investigated. The “smoke” was actually steam from the evaporation of dew from the house’s roof. The smoke odor was from a neighbor’s grill.
A battery rolled under a kitchen cabinet in a Bell Rd. house June 11. The resident thought it was a fire hazard. Firefighters could not access the battery but advised it did not pose a hazard.
The water department was notified about a leaking hydrant or main on Rugby Rd. June 12.
Firefighters assisted at a car accident on Claremont Rd. and provided first aid until paramedics arrived June 13.

On June 14, firefighters responded to a reported garbage truck fire at the sanitation yard on Secor Rd. On arrival, firefighters found a sanitation truck with its load dumped on the ground and on fire. Firefighters extinguished a small fire on and in the garbage truck and the load located on the ground. They overhauled the rubbish to make sure the fire was completely extinguished. They advised sanitation workers to leave trash in a pile on the ground until Monday in case of re-kindle. It was good advice, since the fire re-kindled, firefighters went back that evening to extinguish it and soak the rubbish pile with water.
On June 14, flowers caught fire from a burning candle in a Saxon Woods Rd. house. Firefighters made sure the fire was extinguished.
