Yonkers Man Arrested on Sex Crimes Charges. Fires Set on School Grounds Over Spring Break

Spring blossoms by Claudine GecelArrested: On April 3, police arrested one individual on the strength of an active warrant issued out of Scarsdale Village Justice Court in the past. The arrested man was Sergio Maurice Tirado, 26, of Yonkers. He was wanted on charges of forcible touching to degrade another human being and second-degree harassment involving physical contact, The victim was listed as a 46-year-old White Plains woman. Tirado was detained by Yonkers police and turned over to Scarsdale police to process the warrant. Following his arrest, Tirado was sent to Westchester County Jail, where he was later released on bail. He was assigned an April 8 court date.
Fires
On March 30, a group of youth lit cardboard and a leaf bag on fire on the basketball court of Edgewood School. They attempted to put it out. Firefighters and police arrived. Firefighters extinguished the fire.
On March 31, a custodian at Edgewood School found a burnt pile of sticks outdoors on school grounds and called police. Police discarded the burnt material. Another bag of organic material was found and discarded. Police made a note to monitor school grounds more closely for the rest of spring break.
On April 1, firefighters used water cans to extinguish a burning campfire in a Drake Rd. parking lot.
Reported burglary
On April 4, a Hampton Rd. resident reported seeing someone inside the house. It was dark, so the resident did not see the person clearly. Police are following up.
Attempted larceny
On April 1, a Scarsdale Ave. business owner reported an attempted larceny inside his store. the suspect was being held and was allegedly becoming aggressive. When police arrived, the owner elected not to pursue any charges since no loss actually occurred.
Help
Police spoke with a Sheldrake Rd. dementia patient who imagined she was being poisoned by people March 31. Her husband and a health aide were present. The woman calmed down and everything was in good order when police left the scene.
Package
A Lyons Rd. man observed, via a doorbell camera, that another man approached his porch and appeared to take a small brown package from it on April 1. The man was not expecting any packages. Nor did he know how the package arrived on his doorstep.
Suspicious
A Carman Rd. woman reported seeing a black Audi drive slowly by her house late at night on April 4. The car stopped and a person got it. When the person saw her, he quickly got back inside the car and drove off. She thought it was suspicious. Police are following up.
VTL arrest
Following an April 2 traffic stop at Popham and Chase roads, driver Marco Nieto, 53, of Yonkers, was arrested on charges of operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and operation of a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver. He was released on his own recognizance with an appearance ticket for Scarsdale Village Justice Court.
Cars and roadways
On March 31, police issued summonses to drivers of illegally parked cars on Brambach Rd.
On March 31, police called a tow for a broken-down car on Heathcote Rd.
A man sitting in his parked car on Stonehouse Rd. was waiting to pick up his wife, who was working as a party organizer in the neighborhood, April 1.
On April 1, police called a tow for a car whose tire was low on air on Heathcote Rd.
Police intervened and mediated a road rage incident at Pot and Popham roads April 2. Both drivers agreed to go their separate ways.
On April 2, police issued a Mt. Vernon driver three summonses, including one for unlicensed driving, following a traffic stop on Chase Rd.
An abandoned gray 1999 BMW on Penn Rd. was removed by tow April 3. The license plate did not match the car. Police contacted the owners of the car and the license plate to report that their property had been found. They provided instructions on how to pick up their items.
A disabled car was towed from Crane Rd. April 5.
Two car accidents were officially reported in the Village this week.
Dogs
A loose dog on Mamaroneck Rd. was reunited with its owner March 30.
A pitbull with a collar but without tags was found loose on the yard of a Mamaroneck Rd. house. It growled aggressively at police when approached April 4. Police provided the homeowner with a list of trappers to secure the dog.
Village code
Police issued summonses to landscapers using gas-powered leaf blowers on Mamaroneck Rd., violating Village code. March 30.
On March 31, police removed illegally posted signs from Murray Hill Rd. Summonses were issued as appropriate.
Youth accused of banging on garbage cans at Edgewood School on March 31 said they were finishing a basketball game and would be leaving soon.
On April 4, police removed illegally posted signs from Franklin and Mamaroneck roads. Summonses were issued as appropriate.
Static from an outdoor speaker on Mamaroneck Rd. was deemed to be disruptive on April 5. Police spoke with people in charge in order to rectify the situation.
Lost and found
On March 30, a Cooper Rd. man reported that he recently retrieved jewelry items from his bank and noticed that approximately 25 items were missing. He needed a report for insurance purposes.
A passerby found a wallet on East Parkway and gave it to police March 31.
On March 31, a caller reported losing his Honda car key on Lockwood Rd.
On April 1, a passerby found a bracelet on Boulevard and gave it to police.
Firefighters
On March 31, firefighters removed a container of leaking fuel from a Marjory Lane garage. The resident was advised on how to properly dispose of the containers.
Firefighters stood by while Con Edison red-tagged a leaking gas stove in a Rock Meadow Lane house March 31.
Firefighters assisted with ventilating an Old Lyme Rd. house after an extinguished cooking fire led to smoke in the house April 1.
On April 2, firefighters stood by for a gas leak at a Myrtledale Rd. house.
On April 2, firefighters stood by Con Edison at the site of a gas leak from a boiler in an Aspen Rd. house. The boiler was shut down, and a repair from a qualified service technician was recommended.
Carbon monoxide was found in a Madison Rd. house April 3. It was traced to a faulty boiler. Con Edison shut down the unit. Firefighters assisted with ventilation. Repairs were recommended.
Firefighters and Con Edison shut down faulty heating equipment in a Farragut Rd. house and notified the owner who was away April 3. Repairs were recommended.
A gas fireplace was shut down after one of the valves was found to have a minor leak in a Horseguard Ln. house April 5.

Police Report: Driver Charged with DWI Following Accident, Domestic Disputes and a Missing Person

DWI: Following a car accident at Dolma Rd. and Morris Lane March 24, police arrested driver James C. Secca, 45, of Stamford, Connecticut, on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), refusal to take a breath test, operation of a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver and following too closely. He was released on his own recognizance, with an appearance ticket for Scarsdale Village Justice Court.
Identity theft
On March 25, a Meadow Rd. resident reported that someone opened a fraudulent car insurance policy with Geico for two cars that the resident did not own. He learned of the incident when he received a collections notice.
Social media hacking
Someone hacked a Heathcote Rd. resident’s Facebook account to fraudulently post items for sale. On March 29, people who had purchased items and paid for them showed up at the resident’s house to collect the items, only to learn that they had been scammed. The resident weas afraid that people who were scammed would retaliate against his family, even though they had nothing to do with the scam. Police said they would provide extra ride-bys.
Extortion
On March 27, a Brookby Rd. woman reported she was being “extorted.” No further information was provided.
Domestic matters
On March 27, an Edgewood woman reported having a disagreement with her husband. On scene, patrol spoke with both parties. They stated that they were having a conversation with their son about not eating. The parents also had a disagreement about the situation. When her husband wanted to leave the house to go for a walk, the wife called 911. Patrol advised that they can reach out to the youth officer regarding their son.
On March 28, police received a call about an alleged unwanted guest at a Lincoln Rd. house. On scene, the residents said there was no incident involving an unwanted guest. Instead, they said their son’s girlfriend had come to their house the previous day to stay with them. They said she was welcome. The girlfriend said she had left her parents’ house due to an unhealthy dynamic. She did not want to communicate with her parents. She stated that her parents arrived at the house requesting to speak with her despite her request that they not contact her. The homeowner stated that she asked them to leave the property and that they eventually did so after she informed them police had been called.
Missing person
Around 1 a.m., March 28, police saw a youth walking on Park and Mamaroneck roads. The youth was identified as a missing person out of New Rochelle. New Rochelle police were notified. The youth claimed he just went out for a walk and got lost. New Rochelle police and the youth’s father came to headquarters to pick up the youth.
Help
On March 24, a woman from out of town left her car to look for her loose dog, and she then flagged down police because she did not know how to get back to her car. The woman’s husband said he managed to retrieve their dog, and police provided a courtesy transport back to the woman’s car.
Water
A plumber needed to turn off water on Bradford Rd. but was concerned about the age of the valve March 23. The water department was notified for assistance.
Suspicious
On March 26, a lacrosse coach contacted police to report a suspicious interaction with a man who claimed he wanted lessons for his kids following a correspondence over text message. The man then sent the coach a check through email that appeared to have been digitally altered. The coach became suspicious, did not attempt to cash the check and instead reported it to police. Other coaches were also informed.
Financial worry
On March 26, a Madison Rd. woman believed that her former financial advisor had mismanaged her funds. However, she was unable to provide any proof or paperwork indicating criminal activity. Patrol suggested contacting a private legal counsel to assist with investigating and protecting her finances.

Police issued summonses to the drivers of three illegally parked cars on Locust Lane March 24.
A driver in a white Hyundai ran out of gas on Butler Rd. March 25. Police called a tow to assist with refilling the car with gas.

On March 27, police notified Con Edison about a low-hanging wire on Stratton Rd.
A silver BMW SUV was found abandoned on Penn Rd. March 27. A resident said it had been abandoned for over a week.

On March 27, a caller reported finding a wallet and turning it in to Dunkin’ Donuts staff on Depot Place. Police contacted staff at the store, and they claimed no one had turned it in a wallet.
On March 27, a Boulevard woman reported losing a passport. She realized it was lost on March 20, she said.
On March 29, a Boulevard resident reported that her daughter lost a $4,000 flute.
On March 29, a Harvest Dr. resident reported losing a license plate.

Police Report: Ardmore Road Man Scammed, Edgewood Homes Egged

Heavy rains overnight on March 23 turned a stream into the Hutchinson River behind Archer Lane.Scam: On March 19, an Ardmore Rd. resident lost $2,000 in a scam. Specifically, the resident received a phone call from a party claiming to be from JP Morgan. The unknown party advised the resident that someone was attempting to create a fraudulent bank account under her name, and that she would be required to transfer $2,000 in order to stop it. The resident obliged and transferred the money via Zelle.
Egged
On March 19, a Carman Rd. resident reported his house had been egged for the fifth time. Security footage captured video of a silver/grey, mid-2000s four-door sedan, whose occupants were seen throwing the eggs.
On March 19, a Barry Rd. resident’s house was egged. The incident was reported the next day.
Harassment
On March 17, a Garth Rd. dance studio owner reported harassment from one of her student’s parents. The parent was asked to leave as a result. Police explained it was a civil matter.
On March 19, a Brite Ave. man reported that ex-girlfriend was harassing his family. He explained that his ex-girlfriend has emailed and followed his currents wife's business, asking to come to an event. However, it is unknown if the ex-girlfriend knows that the owner of the business is connected to her ex-boyfriend. The man asked for patrol to reach out to the ex-girlfriend about the situation. Patrol tried to call the ex-girlfriend, but she did not answer the phone.
Dance school
On March 18, a woman advised through a Japanese translation app that her daughter's ballet teacher was threatening to refuse ballet lessons to her daughter. Patrol advised that her daughter's ballet teacher has the right to refuse her business services or lessons to anyone for any reason. The woman also advised that her husband is bringing her daughter to the ballet lessons, and that is not part of their custody agreement. When asked to provide a copy of the custody agreement, the woman provided a picture of a temporary order of protection that her husband had against her. She was advised to speak to her attorney for further guidance and to stop bringing her daughter to the ballet teacher if she does not like the services provided.
Landlord tenant issue
An Aspen Rd. tenant reported a suspicious man was at his door March 20. Patrol arrived on scene and made contact with the man in question. He stated and proved that he owned a Mercedez-Benz, which was parked in the driveway of the property. He stated that the renter, who resides there, has not paid him for the rental. The man had a second key fob to the vehicle, and he took possession of it. He stated that he would be following up with the renter to retrieve the other key fob back. He was advised that any payment owed was a civil matter.
Welfare checks
At the request of Yonkers police, police checked the welfare of a person working at a construction site on Greenacres Ave. March 16. He was OK.
At the request of a concerned son-in-law, police checked the welfare of a Walworth Ave. man. He was OK.

A Copper Beech Ln. resident reported her stepson was sending numerous concerning emails March 18.
Garbage
A drum marked motor oil was left on the property of a Cushman Rd. resident March 17. Police called the sanitation department for pickup. Firefighters confirmed that only one gallon of oil was left in the 55-gallon drum. Police called about the oil drum again on March 19.

Police issued a summons to a driver that parked illegally in a handicap-designated spot on Post Rd. March 16.
On March 16, an area of Heathcote Rd. flooded because a catch basin was clogged. Police notified the highway department for maintenance.

On March 21, a dog owner reported that another dog bit his dog in the vicinity of Bradley Rd. and Boulevard. The owner stated he was walking his dog near the intersection when another dog "attacked" his dog. His dog had no visible injury, and the owner did not believe his dog had been injured. The caller wished to report the incident since the other dog had been unleashed on the grounds of Davis Park. The caller stated that the dog was at the park with three youths who quickly left the area when he attempted to speak with them. He stated they walked down Boulevard and into New Rochelle. Several youths who remained at the park stated they did see one dog jump "on top of another" and that they did not know the other youths who had brought that dog.

On March 18, an Olmsted Rd. resident’s daughter reported losing $250 air pods out of her bookbag the previous day. She tracked the air pods to an address in Mt. Vernon.
On March 19, an Oak Lane resident reported losing a license plate in a car accident that occurred in February.
Firefighters
On March 16, firefighters went to a Sheldrake Rd. house for an inside odor of smoke investigation. They found a burnt component on a light fixture in the kitchen. They isolated the power and capped the wires to the fixture and advised the resident to contact a licensed electrician to replace the light fixture.
On March 17, firefighters assisted at unrelated car accidents on the Hutchinson River Parkway and Sprague Rd.
On March 18, an odor in a Rectory Lane basement was traced to a dead rodent.
On March 20, a thermostat malfunctioned and a wire was smoking in the public safety headquarters building on Tompkins Rd. Firefighters isolated the power and attempted to disconnect the unit, pending repair by a service professional.
On March 21, firefighters disconnected a malfunctioning boiler in a Walworth Ave. house.
On March 21, firefighters assisted at a car accident on the Bronx River Parkway.

Police Report: Homeless Woman Arrested for Criminal Mischief, Pedestrian Hit and Boy Home Alone

She was reported to have thrown items and sprayed employees with Windex. She damaged merchandise on display. She was described as carrying a blue suitcase. Police arrived on scene and arrested the suspect on charges of felonious criminal mischief. She was identified as Olga Dimopoulos, 57, a homeless woman. She was released on her own recognizance with an appearance ticket for Village Justice Court.
Burglary
On March 9, a Drake Rd. resident reported his house had been burglarized over the weekend. At least one item was reported stolen. The 80-year-old resident said he was home at the time but didn’t realize what was happening because of the walls and the noise from the TV.
Stolen
A technician serving AT&T call boxes reported that batteries stored in one of the call boxes appeared to have been stolen, since the box was empty March 13. Police advised the technician that AT&T, as owner of the batteries, would have to make the report.
On March 14, a Nelson Rd. resident reported that a package had been stolen from his house. As per FedEx, the package had been signed for.
Fraud
On March 9, a Sheldrake Rd. resident reported an incident of fraud.
Criminal mischief
A Barry Rd. resident reported that someone threw eggs at his front door and window around 11:30 p.m., March 13.
On March 14, a Carman Rd. resident reported that his house had been egged overnight. It was the third incident in 30 days, the owner said.
Domestic matter
A Quaker Ridge mother reported her daughter was having suicidal thoughts and asked to speak with a clinician March 10. A responding clinician said she would follow up with the family the next day.
Home alone
On March 12, an eight-year-old boy called police stating he had been left home alone and he was scared. He asked the police to respond because he did not want to be home alone. Police went to the house and learned the child had just been dropped off from soccer by his friend's parent, and the child discovered no one was home. The child called his mother in presence of patrol, who then contacted the au pair that was supposed to be present. The au pair stated that she was running late but was on the way. The au pair arrived approximately two minutes later. The child appeared to be in good health with no cause to suspect mistreatment, neglect or abuse. No further police action was necessary.
Suspicious
On March 9, a Heathcote Rd. resident reported a man wearing a Con Edison vest and driving a Con Edison van knocked on her door and requested to come inside to check equipment. She declined and the man left. The resident thought it was suspicious.
A Post Rd. resident reported that someone entered his driveway and placed a flyer for an auto detailing service on the windshield of his parked car March 11.
A Quaker Ridge School custodian reported finding a suspicious item outside the school March 13. It was an empty suitcase – found to be empty and damaged. It was discarded as trash.
Water
A drainage system was damaged at a construction site on Continental Rd. and water was collecting in a neighbor’s yard March 14. The neighbor called police. Police informed the contractor who arrived on scene to repair the system. The contractor gave the neighbor his contact information for any future problems or issues.
Safety
Kids were dropped off a school bus at a Fox Meadow rd. bus stop, and at least one kid was walking in the middle of the road March 13. Police spoke with the kids about traffic safety and the danger of walking in the street.
Help
An East Parkway establishment’s manager reported that a female was present in an office around 2 a.m., March 14, and would not leave. Police arrived and asked the woman to leave. She complied.
Police attempted to check the welfare of a Palmer Ave. woman but no one appeared to be home March 14.
Pedestrian hit
A car stuck a pedestrian at the corner of East Parkway and Christie Place March 10. The pedestrian reported a foot injury.
Cars and roadways
A sinkhole, said to be about four to five feet wide, was reported on Cushman Rd. March 9. The water department was advised since it was near a fire hydrant. Firefighters also responded. It was determined that the sinkhole was the result of a collapsed sewer line.
On March 10, a Brewster Rd. resident reported a car drove over her property over the weekend. It caused damage to the walkway and grass.
A passing truck struck wires on Palmer Ave. and Heathcote Rd. March 10. Police notified Verizon and Con Edison. Firefighters assisted.
Police stood by until a disabled car was removed from Bypass by a tow March 10.
Verizon was notified about a fallen wire on Mamaroneck Rd. March 11.

On March 9, heat at a Popham Rd. malfunctioned and would not respond to the thermostat. The temperature rose to over 100 degrees. Firefighters shut down the system and recommended calling for service.

An odor on Lockwood Rd. was determined to be from a skunk March 10.

On March 11, a Brookline doorbell was smoking and releasing an electrical burning odor. Firefighters disconnected power to the unit and advised calling for repair.
On March 12, a Wynmor Rd. resident noticed a gas odor while using the oven. Firefighters could not find a leak, but they recommended to refrain from using it until it could be properly serviced.
A hood malfunctioned in a Gath Rd. restaurant March 12. Firefighters recommended servicing the hood.
A drainage pipe broke at a Butler Rd. house, and water was collecting in the yard March 12. Firefighters recommended calling for service.
Firefighters responded to a car accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway March 13. One driver was stuck in a car complaining of neck and back pain. Firefighters cut open the car to get the person out. The person was treated by Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps and transported to a local hospital.
Firefighters put a disabled elevator out of service in the Freightway Garage March 13.
On March 15, firefighters helped a Meadow Rd. resident make sure her oven was off.

Burglary Suspect Found in Second Floor Bedroom Closet, Disoriented Man and Police Rescue a Baby Fox

Photo by Shelley GrafsteinDWI arrest:On March 8, police arrested Koranjaly Ramirez Concepcion, 45, of Yonkers, on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), refusal to take a breath test, speeding, resisting arrest and second-degree obstruction of governmental administration. She was arrested after police pulled her over for speeding on Post Rd. She was released on her own recognizance and issued an appearance ticket for Village court.
Burglary
A Drake Rd. resident reported that his house had been burglarized sometime between 4 p.m., March 7 and 8 p.m., March 8.
Identity theft
On March 2, a Fox Meadow Rd. woman reported that someone opened an unauthorized Verizon account in her name.
A Fenimore Rd. woman reported that someone fraudulently opened accounts with Wells Fargo and Cash App March 4. She needed a police report to close the accounts.
Fraud
A Cushman Rd. resident reported that a possible incident of mortgage fraud might be occurring related to his residence March 3. A forged document was brought to the attention of police.
On March 6, an Axtell Dr. man reported he ordered baseball cards on Ebay on Jan. 20. On Feb. 7, he received an empty box. Ebay needed a police report to issue a refund.
Suspicious
A woman with dark hair wearing a sweatshirt and black pants came to a Kensington Rd. house claiming she was a cleaner hired to clean the house March 4. The owner, however, did not hire any house cleaners. So, the babysitter at the house refused to let the woman inside.
A Post Rd. resident reported that an unknown man was knocking on their door at 4 a.m., March 7. It happened three times before the man left in an unknown car.
Help
An elderly man drove to Gatehouse Rd., parked his car in one driveway and knocked on the door of the house next door March 6. The resident called police. Police arrived and found the man lying on the porch. He was not injured, but he seemed disoriented and confused. Police determined the man was a missing party out of Rye. Rye police and the man’s daughter were contacted. She came to pick him up. She told police he was suffering from dementia. She said she would take away his car keys to prevent future similar incidents.
Domestic matters
On March 5, police received a 911 call from a Village resident. It sounded like a domestic matter with a child in the background. Police spoke with the child who said he was upset with being disciplined at school. Everyone at the house said that 911 was dialed unintentionally, and no emergency assistance was needed.
An Edgewood woman reported her husband refused to fund her acupuncture treatments and she could not feel her feet March 7. Police went to the house, and the woman refused medical attention.
Vehicle and traffic arrest
On March 2, police arrested Robin A. Lopez, 50, of Stamford, CT, on charges of a registered plate display violation and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle – alcohol related. A traffic stop occurred on Kelwynne Rd. after police noticed that Lopez’s vehicle was driving without a rear license plate. He was released on his own recognizance with an appearance ticket for Village court.
Cars and roadways
On March 3, police corrected an open manhole cover on Post Rd.
A student was called to turn off a parked car that had been left with its engine running at the high school March 3.
On March 3, police called a tow for a broken-down car on Popham Rd.
A car got stuck in snow on Drake Rd March 4. Police called a tow to pull it out.
On March 5, a Bronx driver on Lyons Rd. reported that someone kicked his car.
On March 5, police removed a branch from Fox Meadow Rd.
A car broke down on Mamaroneck rd. March 5. The driver got the car to start again, and patrol followed the driver home as a courtesy.
On March 7, police removed debris with nails from Heathcote Rd.
Drivers were blocking Eton Rd. March 7. Police asked them to move their cars.
Verizon was informed about a low-hanging wire on Weaver St. March 8.
On March 8, police placed a cone in a large pothole on Mamaroneck Rd. they informed the highway department for repair.
Five car accidents were officially reported in the Village this week.
Death
A 90-year-old man died at home on Madison Rd. March 3.
Civil matter
On March 2, a man who parked on Overhill Rd. was unhappy that a parking attendant placed a sticker on his windshield because the man parked in an unauthorized location. The sticker did not cause any damage. The man said he was unhappy with the situation and would look into litigation.
Animals
Police rescued a baby fox from Crane Rd., placed it in a box with a blanket and called an animal rehabilitator March 7.
Village code
On March 4, police told a solicitor that he needed a permit to solicit in the Village.
Police asked a Kelwynne Rd. resident to bring a dog inside because it was barking loudly.
Lost and found
On March 3, a person arrived at headquarters to report that she lost two necklaces at her dermatologist’s office – a gold necklace with a green pendant and a gold chain with an engraved gold pendant.
Firefighters
On March 5, firefighters shut down a leaking boiler in a Cushman Rd. house.
On March 5, a construction wall collapsed in Port Chester. Firefighters assisted.
An odor of sulfur was detected in Heathcote School March 5. It was coming from a janitorial bathroom and work space. Firefighters added water to the shower and sink in this area and ventilated the space to reduce the odor.
On March 8, firefighters stood by for Con Edison at the site of a gas leak in a Heathcote Rd. house.

On March 10, 2026, at approximately 4:50 p.m., New Rochelle Police responded promptly to a report of a burglary in progress at a home on Stephenson Boulevard.
A 911 caller reported hearing the sound of glass breaking and then observed an unknown Black male entering the residence through a side window. The caller provided a clear description and remained on the line with dispatch, providing real-time updates as officers were en route.
Upon arrival, officers quickly established a perimeter around the property to contain the scene and prevent escape. A tactical entry team then entered the home to search for the suspect and ensure the safety of any potential occupants.
The suspect was located hiding in a second-floor bedroom closet. He was taken into custody without incident or injury to officers or the suspect.
No residents were home at the time of the incident, and there were no reported injuries.
